Hi IFROAR Friends

Missed Xmas this year and a Schedule or two – deployed to Vanuatu to assist after the recent Quake. Whilst the trip over was via NZRAF’s “VIP plane – 757”the trip back was in a C130 along with 38 rather burly Firemen (Search and Rescue team members).

In my case, the work supported the Vanuatu Red Cross: restoring power, sorting out Internet Comms, setting up computer facilities for incoming RedCross Delegates, commissioning Starlink and various other systems (all in a building that would likely be regarded as Yellow-Stickered – occupiable, but under certain circumstances) /.
Sorted out some VHF radios – so did do a bit of Radio work (not convinced the frequencies used are fully licenced, but there we go – seek forgiveness if permission is hard to get). Anyhow – 8 days away and now back in NZ.
