From John ZL2JPM
A report from ZL2JPM.
Iíve had very little success on the Sunday 40m and 20m nets over the past weeks. The Grey-line is firmly over the east coast of Australia for the 20m net and Iím sure they are receiving excellent reports from Europe. Alas, Bill (VK4ZD) and Peter (VK3KCD) are only 33-43 at best and I occasionally hear a weak signal from Jean-Pierre (F4CFA). Iíll soon be moving from my current location (after 30 years) and will set-up a station in a new home about 40kms north on the coast Ė using a 6-band trapped vertical (to appease the local height restrictions). In the meantime, Iíll keep on with the portable loop and the IC-705. I just might make Brisbane!

From Jean-Pierre F1CFA to Bill VK4ZD
Today we were celebrating the end of the war. The celebration, in each
town, was made in honour. Of course, everybody had in mind the actual
war in Ukraine. Tomorrow, 9 May, is also a special day for Russia.
What is the challenge ?
The meeting was difficult with the Contest. I received you, as usual,
with a good report of 55. VK3KCD was 52, also G0EGW, and 41 for Nick
G4HCK. I was obliged to leave, as I was in charge of the celebration
for the Town Hall.
Best wishes.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From Bob G3SZF
G7OAI/P John was net control up on his hill and was joined by
G4LXD Bill
G3JJR John
G3SZF Bob
G0EGW Vernon
Conditions and signals were generally good around UK. Another interesting chat including mature men's health issues and forthcoming Rotary events planned by Clubs. Bob reported that his local club (G6UT) was currently operating /P as GB0TWM at Thaxted Wind Mill and would welcome a call. Both Vernon and Bob reported little success with the earlier 20m net. 73s to G3LUW Brian and other listeners.
