From Nicholas G4HCK
Well the SFI was great and the activity was excellent. Looks like everyone has been dusting down their rigs and giving them an airing. However there is always a down side. 14.294 was jammed with contest stations. It’s odd how they fight for frequencies. I found a small area free and started to call CQ Rotary and it was not long before each side of me there were contest stations. I thought I heard someone call me but I could not pull them through the noise.
Ah well let’s hope Tuesday is better when the contest will be finished and many people will be back at work. Its really a shame when contests are on there is not a small section of the band allocated to none contest activities.
Re the Peanut qso today (Sunday) I have tried the ferret rings but the animals bite and won’t stay still. I think I will stay with the ferrite rings. I wonder if I could stick the ferrets head through the middle of the ferrite ring.

I must also add being slightly dyslexic it’s the type of frustrating annoying mistake I could make. It cost me a lot of money to have my PhD thesis proof read and the lady earnt her money.

The conditions of running this morning were fabulous !
Contest, noise, number of OM working...
Everything was out of control !
All the bands were active.
But it was difficult to run the ROAR net meeting.

I received today evening a Mail from F5JDK ( Maxime FLAUW ).
He just received a brand new magnetic loop. He is just missing the adjustment motor...a mistake, I guess.
As soon he is QRV, I send you all information about him.
He is located in Britanny ( the city of Brest )
Maxime is a very good friend and I delight of his participation. He is Rotarian, of course.

G7OAI John was net control and joined by

Conditions and signals were good around UK but suffered from continental QRM. Despite a small gathering an interesting net reporting on current Rotary club activity.

Net control ED N4EDT opened the meeting at 2030Z following the warm up session that included discussion of boats, booster shots and other unrelated topics.
There were 17 check ins including
Dave WN5V
Craig KL7H
Dixon KC5PL
Nate N8TE
Peter WA6LBY (happy birthday)
Joe AF1E
Bill KC4D
Noel NM5AB
George K9ZSJ
Douglas KD2VQA (first time check in and new to Rotary)
Following the sharing of health and welfare reports of members and families there were reports of club activities and events, Peter WA6LBY shared that he and his group will be travelling to Mexico to distribute wheelchairs to needy families in that area. He reminded us that when we give a wheelchair to a child it changes the child, the child's family and the giver.
Time was given to Douglas KD2VQA to introduce himself and in response each other introduced themselves to Douglas. We trust we made him feel more than welcome among friends and fellow Rotarians.
There was some discussion regarding the time change in North America next weekend and it was decided to leave the net time at 2030Z and to adjust to local time.
A good meeting especially because we welcomed a new Rotarian to our fellowship

From Douglas ZL1BFS
Regrettably, with the shifts in time both in the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere,
The Tuesday Night ROAR sked now clashes directly on top of my 80m sked. These started in
1963, so I want to keep them going.
So for the next six months, I will be on Sunday ROAR skeds only.
