Good morning from an overcast UK
Today I could just hear Bill in the clear. Doug was also in there and at the end he was coming through 3.3.
However it was contest weekend and I did have another station slowly drifting in which was creating some major problems.
The good news is that we are making contact so the band must be getting better.
Nicholas Wilkinson
From Douglas ZL1BFS
Thanks Nicolas.
I have been suffering an unusually higher noise level on 20m in the last few months,
but last night (Sunday morning for you) the noise was not lifting the meter off its stop
on the long path. I could just hear you sneaking above the noise floor. Absolutely
no S meter deflection - but at the end you were readability 5. Fortunately I couldn’t
hear the contest stations.
I’ve been saying for 6 months now that things will come right in November.

Conditions and signals were good around UK when adjacent QRM subsided. It is World Polio Day and Geoff reported appearing in a related local newspaper article which he will forward for inclusion in the ROAR Communicator.
Bob reported on the JOTA activity last weekend from his local club. Another interesting net covering radio and Rotary activities. Clocks change next weekend!

John shared his story of contracting polio shortly after birth (before the anti polio vaccine was available) and many of the issues and struggles he has faced since that time. He has undertaken the task of promoting the Rotary Polio Plus program and encourages everyone to contribute to Rotary's program.
He serves on many committees and boards that promote this effort. His was a touching first hand experience that moved us all to continue our personal commitment to fund the vaccination program.
Following John's presentation, Ed afforded each check in , the opportunity to convey to John our feelings about his time of sharing and what our reactions might be.
A very different program that was very moving and many commitments were made to contribute to Polio Plas.
Ed closed the meeting at 2123 Z
