G0EGW Vernon
Brian reported the sad news that long standing member Derek G0SQH was SK. Derek was a very dedicated and innovative Rotarian who will be missed by both his club and ROAR. Conditions and signals were variable around UK particularly as the net progressed. Negative reports on the earlier 20m net but Vernon reported some EU success on 40m. Another interesting net.

The main topic was reports from the participants in the Cajun ROAR summit held earlier in the week. Much humour and fun was enjoyed by the group and there was the bonding of those meeting for the first time in person. It was decided by unanimous assent that the gathering would be designated Cajun ROAR Summit 2021 to distinguish it from the summits to be held in ensuing years. There was some regret expressed by those who were unable to attend the summit.
Two other issues were also given time. They were the Huntsville ARRL convention and the Houston RI Convention. Issues to be explored are accommodations and locations to gather for the ROAR Meeting and Dinner. There was also discussion of the ROAR presence at the Dayton Hamfest.

From Bill VK4ZD
Sorry, I missed this sched
From Nicholas G4HCK
Good morning from a lovely sunny UK
The wx may be great but the bands are not. I just made contact with Vernon on Tuesday but no one else was about.
As I quite often say – maybe better luck next time.
Nicholas Wilkinson

As a result of the continuing poor HF conditions between Europe and ANZO, the HF net will be supplemented with a Zoom Meeting be held on Tuesday 25 May 2021, after the scheduled 20m Eu to ANZO net. The ZOOM meeting will start at 0730z on 25 May.

This is to enable those who normally participate in the 20m net to get together when the propagation otherwise denies us that ability. Nicholas will host the Zoom meeting using the link below.

From Nicholas G4HCK
Please find the link for the Zoom meeting for our group. Please pass this link to everyone who you think would be interested.
If when you log in you get the Thurrock Acorns that will be correct. I am using our radio clubs zoom account.
Many thanks.
