From Phil VK2MCB
Phil VK2MCB and Nicholas G4HCK only were present. All others were travelling or otherwise engaged.  This also affected the HF nets which were to follow.

From Nicholas G4HCK
Good morning Jean Pierre
It was good to talk to you today. Your signal reached 5.9 at one time. I could just hear Malcolm but his signal was very low. As I was beaming to France it meant Vernon was on the side of the beam which impacted upon his signal report.
There were only two people on Peanut today Phil and myself. We had a most interesting conversation focusing upon houses and insulation etc.
Nicholas Wilkinson

From Peter VK3KCD
Put out a few calls on 40 and 20 with no response as you know Bill is in WA and if my memory serves me correct Doug was also otherwise engaged.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694

G0EGW Vernon
Brian G3LUW had emailed that he was now QRT hopefully temporarily. Conditions and signals were generally poor at the start of the net but gradually improved, with some members relying on SDRs. Vernon floated the idea that ROAR members should perhaps undertake something, e.g. a community project to supplement their fellowship activity. Food for thought. Another good net, with members looking forward to their clubs meeting in person post-Covid.

President opened the discussion with a report that he was trying to establish the most convenient time to hold the ROAR AGM 2021. It will be on Zoom so finding a mutually convenient for all sectors of the ROAR fellowship is the challenge.
There was further discussion of the 2022 RI Convention in Houston, Texas finding hotel accommodations and rendezvous points were paramount.
There was also discussion of the ARRL gathering in Huntsville, Alabama and how ROAR can have a presence there.
There was some show and tell on CW keyers with and without original boxes. Antennae also were discussed as well as an organ recital that was heard on shortwave radio. The WX was discussed and cussed as well as Rotary club activities and meeting formats and modes. Several brief band openings were also noted.
All in all a good time of Rotary fellowship and sharing of ham experience.
President Ed N
4EDT closed the meeting at 1958Z and a brief after meeting followed.
