Other than Vernon G0EGW I did not hear anyone today.
The SFI was in the 80 and the K factor 2 so I can only assume there is a solar storm lurking up in the heavens.

Conditions and signals were poor to reasonable around UK with most relying to some extent on SDR. Another interesting net covering Rotary events such as Santa Sleigh tours and Speakers. Little radio activity reported and Vernon advising little DX on the earlier HF nets. Greetings to Brian G3LUW and other listeners.

The meeting was a presentation by TJ KL7TS (Theodore J Sheffield) who is actively involved in studying and the teaching of solar physics with the AR community in Alaska. His presentation included solar radiation and solar flares and its impact on radio propagation especially in the AR frequencies. He showed a chart of how the sun generates its nuclear energy and how a photon of light may take many years to travel within the sun to reach the surface of the sun and then it takes 8 minutes to reach the surface of the earth. He had recommendations for which bands to use following a solar flare. It was a thorough presentation of the subject and held the attention of all at the meeting.
In the Q & A following insightful questions and issues were raised..
We all thanked TJ for his presentation
ED closed the meeting at 2132 Z
