From Jean-Pierre F1CFA
Hello my friends,
Deathly fabulous this morning !!!
40 m was a silent land...except Italians.
A station ( perhaps Bill) was sending a CW message, but very weak...was it you Bill ?
On 20 m and at the end of the period, we meet with G0EGW (Vernon) with a 55 report at best and later Vernon and G4HCK (Nick) met with a pretty good report. I just can ear the voice of Nick, no more. Then a spanish station met Vernon with a 59+ report. It seems he was a british OM on holydays with a camping car ( was he Vernon ? ). He was speaking English very fast. Too fast for me....
Otherwise It seems that some Russian stations were on the 20 m band too.
That's all for this sunday
From Nicholas G4HCK
Good evening Jean Pierre
The band this morning was not kind to us. I spoke to Vernon and the Spanish station. He was a white stick operator. However the Peanut net was very good.
From Doug ZL1BFS
Thank you Jean-Pierre,
Propagation was much the same in the Southern Hemisphere.
On 40m I could communicate with Bill VK4ZD very well, but Peter VK3KCD was extremely
weak. Most of the time I had to listen to Peter on an SDR located at the top part of the South Island.
On 20m I could not hear Bill or Peter at all on my station receiver - but Bill came in well on the SDR. 57 continuously. He could hear me direct - but very weak.
It was interesting that the SDR did not pick up my own signal at all - only Bill
The “Skip” on every band is very interesting. It is either GO or NO GO - no half measures.
I am looking forward to November, when propagation between ZL and Europe will suddenly become wonderful. And with luck, it will remain so for the rest of the Solar Cycle.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From Bob G3SZF
G3SZF was net control and joined by
G3JJR John
M1ADK Geoff
G0EGW Vernon
G4LXD Bill
PA3AHC Malcolm
Conditions and signals were reasonable around UK although some reliance on SDR. It was good to have Malcolm call in at the start of the net although he was difficult copy, and to hear again from Bill after a couple of weeks. Vernon reported on limited success with the 40/20m nets and reminded members of the planned ZOOM meeting later in the month. Another interesting chat about radio and Rotary, with some thoughts about attracting new members.

From Noel WD8QHD/VA3
ROAR Past President Ed N4EDT chaired the meeting.
There 11 check ins including:-
KL7H Craig
W7SPA Linda (1st time check in)
AF1E Joe
NM5AB Noel
N8TE Nate
PT2ADM Gustavo
N9HWO Phil
WA6LBY Peter
The main emphasis of the meeting was the extensive report given by ED N4EDT and others on the Huntsville, AL hamfest. It seems the ROAR contingent had a marvelous time at the hamfest and they also had a great time together as the ROAR group.
There were updates on club activities or lack thereof.
Although a smaller group than usual, it was a great time for Rotary and AR fellowship.
The meeting closed at 2120Z
