From Bill VK4ZD
John ZL2JPM and I were present. Nick G4HCK, Vernon G0EGW and Jean-Pierre F1CFA could connect to each other (using Peanut) but could not be heard by or hear John or myself. Phil VK2MCB was at Father’s Day festivities and joined with John ZL2JPM at 0630z

Note from Phil VK2MCB
The Peanut problem that presented itself on 6 September has been isolated to an issue with the routing of Peanut data to a server before it reaches XLX 299R. The issue is in the process of being resolved.
It may be fixed in time for the 13 Sep sked so try 299R first and if there is still no contact with Peanut users, all should link to XLX 299E. Fingers crossed!

Guest Stan Stan Grigsby
Ed invited XE4KK Ramon to address the group.
Ramon is President of Region 2 of IARU.
He shared with us his thoughts on the future of Amateur radio. He gave us a well planned and illustrated view of the future of ham radio. It is here to stay but some aspects of the craft will be changed. He shared his thoughts on the changes that digital radio is making. The greatest percentage of QSO's being made currently are digital. CW is here to stay but SSB may not be as popular in the near future.
Ramon considered the impact of digital contacts on contesting. What impact will all this have on making contacts and "rag chewing"?
An extensive presentation that was thought provoking. Ham Radio is here to stay, but it will be different.
