Roar Nets November 10th and 12th 2019

Report for Week of 10 November 2019
Don’t forget the Digital Net on Saturdays at 2100z on XLX299R.
Bill recommends the following changes to our schedules:
1. Add an alternative 20m frequency of 14.285... In the event that 14.295.2 is unusable we should automatically go to 14.285 +/-
2. To coincide with changed propagation all nets should be delayed by 30 minutes.

I listened and called on both 40m and on 20m on Sunday, but heard absolutely nothing.
Noise was at about S3 on 40m, and S1 on 20m, but there were frequent S9+20 static crashes (lightning?)
From Nicholas G4HCK
Good evening Douglas, Its much the same here in the UK. I managed to catch up with Vernon G0EGW and I think he made contact with John Pierre and could just make out Malcom he thought but that was it. The band was not helping in any way. I did listen on Peanut but I must have the wrong time and nothing was heard.
From Jean-Pierre F1CFA
Hello Bill, This is the message I send Nick today :
"Yes Nick, I was on frequency this morning. I heard you but about 31 in the noise.
Vernon was 53 at best. I suspected Malcolm..a voice in the noise.
My wife wanted to help us : She has found an astronomical internet site telling us that the first surge in the sun has happen today...Perhaps the beginning of an improvement..."

I was on frequency from 0700z and monitored OHR at S8-S9. I heard tuning at various times. I left the frequency at 0730z.
After making contacts on other frequencies I went back to 14.295.2 at 0758z and heard Nick G4HCK on the long path.
I called him and we chatted from 0758z until 0837z. He was 54-5 peaking 56 and gave me 58-9 on the long path.
