Report for Week of 28 July 2019
Messages re Pertti
From Jean-Pierre
What a sadness !
Pertti was my Parrain. I can't imagine the loss ! He was so friend...
more over an excellent Rotarian.
Please, try to get some information about his daughter, in such a way we can send kind thoughts to her.
Thanks a lot
Note : 15 days ago we were in QSO with Pertti. And then, I was in England to London.
I just come back this afternoon and find your message. I am Shocked...
From John G3OKT
Thanks for copying me in on this Phil.
I had received the bad news about Pertti from other directions but it doesnt make it any the less sad.
Pertti will be greatly missed by all on 20m and 80m.
I only met him face to face once during the Lisbon ROAR Plenary but of course had many QSOs.
Thank you for copying on Miika's email and best wihes to you all in Oz
73s John G3OKT

From John ZL2JPM
Please add my deepest condolences to the Family of Pertti (EA7GSU) SK. Pertti was one of the cheeriest members of the net when I joined ROAR in 2011 and always such an enthusiastic experimenter with his weird but wonderful antennas and ability to somehow make contact on the Sunday net wherever his travels took him – and there were many of them.
I had the pleasure of meeting him at Sydney Conference and making numerous QSOs over the years. I guess the solar minimum would have not amused him, but he would never have given up trying to coerce propagation over to ANZO and others in the USA.
Sadly we have lost two icons of ROAR’s Amateur Radio nets in recent times: Klaus (HB9CQS) SK and now Pertti. Let’s not forget thbem!
Dr John P Moriarty (ZL2JPM)
