Doug ZL1BFS was57-9 building to 59+5 and gave me 59
John ZL2JPM and I exchanged 59 reports
John and Doug worked each other at 59 signals also - wow
Alvaro EA2BY (visitor) was 56 and gave me 59 - running 100w from a solar powered battery system
Vernon G0EGW was initially 55-6 but built to 57-8 and gave me the same report
Nick G4HCK started out at 22-33 building to 44-55 and gave me 31-2 at first, then 44-55 and then amazingly 59
A truly incredible net as all stations heard each other well and both ZL's made excellent contacts into the UK
We went QRT at 0900z
From Douglas ZL1BFS
It was a very enjoyable sked. Last week (Sunday 1 Dec) I could work Vernon and Bill. Bill could work me and John ZL2JPM, Vernon could work Me and Nick, so we spent the whole time relaying! This week (8 Dec) I could work Bill, Vernon and John 59, and Nick peaking 55, Vernon and Nick could just work John, so it became a proper net. Jean-Pierre, I am sorry we couldn’t work you. I think I heard you as a very weak signal a couple of times, but by the time propagation improved a little later, you seemed to have gone. Sorry.
Malcolm - looking forward to the next few weeks!
Bill, because of the extremely adverse morning temperatures in Europe, I have no objection to starting half an hour later. Propagation would be a bit better at the later time, and we wouldn’t have to kill the first half hour talking just having a VK/ZL net.
