G3SZF was Net Control. Bob was 5.9 +10dB here but had his usual S9 QRM;
John G3JJR said all signals were good on the Hack Green SDR;
G4LXD Bill later said that Hack Green could be found via Google at “Hack Green SDR”
All stations were 5.9 here except Malcolm PA3AHC, averaging 5.6 but S 7 to zero in slow QSB
G3LUW Brian was off air having lost the tree branch which supported his aerials in a Storm.
G7OAI Bob had been heard earlier to say that RAENET duties would prevent him appearing later.
G0SQH reported heavy rain; we discussed the raspberry pi programmable chip; Derek said 16 million had now been sold; he had given a talk on its use for access to the Intl Space Stn; they cost < £5!
G2FUU Tommy was 5.9+10dB; said he would check 80m at 6pm for any ROAR calls.
We discussed professional institutions; G3OKT had just visited the IET in London for a talk on video compression. IET has now been refurbished as a “members’ Club”; Bob said the same for the Civil Engineers; Bill already used the Royal Army Medical Corps.
G3OKT confirmed he would be Net Control next week (as usual for 3rdSunday in the month)

I missed this net due to workload

I have noted that the short path to Europe is now opening from around 1000z.
I have successfully worked many Europeans in many parts of Europe including G, EA, OH.
Last night (Wednesday) a station in Moscow was coming in here at 59+15. He was incredulous (laughing) when I called him and he gave me 59+10.

It is definitely worth a try around that time slot at the moment.

Let us trial 1000z on 14295.2 short path on 21 October.
