From Phil VK2MCB

0500z- 0600z / 2200z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,295.2 Long Path
From Phil VK2MCB
Poor conditions continued. No contacts made from VK/ZL.
From Pertti EA7GSU
The band was quiet at 0500 and about half an hour after. No reply to any call I made. So I went back to bed and lost sense of time. So if somebody was there at 0600/0630, I would not know. Other parts of band was also very quiet, no strong signals from anywhere.
From Klaus HB9CQS
I tried shortly before and efter 06:00z. Nothing heard. Not even a European station. After I turned Cape Ninety I decided not to use an alarm clock anymore. So I wasn’t awake at 05:00z which is 7 o’clock in the morning. Poor sleeping habits are part of being old.
No reason to make things worse by using an alarm clock.
I will do my best to be QRV on 14’295.2 at 22:00z tonight. During the week I have a similar evening sked with Len, VK4BLZ. If 22:00z doesn’t work, we try again at 22:30z. So far we managed, but the last 2 – 3 days only 44. QRG: 14328. You are welcome to join us, if you hear us. Will write to Jean Pierre now. He must have had a tough time and it is not over yet.
From Malcolm PA3AHC
I tried this morning towards the end of the new schedule, but to no avail .
Also btw , at our old time of 0630z the Italian QRM nearby obliterates everything .
Just trying to be helpful..
From Phil VK2MCB at 2200z
Tried Klaus at 2200z long path and we exchanged 55/56 reports. Additionally a ZL station in the far south of the South Island exchanged 59 report with Klaus This would appear the best time for VK/ZL/EU albeit a bit late for EU
0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKTP
G3OKT was Net Control. G7OAI had given apologies, John being on Grandfather duties!
G3LUW
G3SZF was 5.8-9 QSB here and having trouble receiving G3JJR
G3JJR John likewise was having trouble with Bob; was 5.9+20dB here and gave me +30dB over S9.
G4LXD and I exchanged 5.8; Bill gave G3LUW 5.8, G3SZF 5.6 and G3JJR 5.6
G2FUU reported that he was receiving all stations fairly well. Tommy reported his Grandson had had a little girl to complement existing little boy. Tommy was congratulated by all!
G2FUU and G3JJR said they would listen at 1800hrs on 80m for any callers.
G0SQH Derek called in, but only 5.7 in QSB
The net closed at 0900z
G3SZF confirmed he would be Net Control next week, and G3OKT the week after (1stJuly)
All signals seemed down on earlier values, and suffering substantial QSB.
1700z – 1730z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,694 MHz
2130z-2230z Transcontinental net on 7.185 / 14.285
0800z – 0830z Tuesday NZ 80-m net on 3,693
0500z - 0530z / 2200z Tuesday 19th June 2018 EUR 20m net on 14,295.2
From Phil VK2MCB
No contacts made.
Update as at 22 June. The propagation conditions appear to be improving temporarily with SN rising to 54 and K index quiet at 1.
Checking my propagation to Europe indicates 0600z to be the best for this coming weekend.
Suggest we amend the Sunday sked on 14295.2 to 0600z and again at 2200z for those willing to join. Both Long Path. 2200 worked for HB to VK this last week and looks promising on prediction tables.
ANZO 40m net on 7110khz will begin at 0530z.
Thanks to all who have been sending messages of support to Jean-Pierre. Lots of good messages of support sent.
Also, I note that VE3R (Special Event Callsign for the Rotary International Conference) is now operating on 14295khz – check out the ROAR Facebook website - www.facebook.com/groups/RotariansROAR/
