From Pertti EA7GSU
I was there again this morning and the band was empty when I opened the RX.
But after a while I heard John .3okt and Nick ,4hck but signals were very “bumpy”, QSB up and down between 58 and 00.
I heard and got also Coco -9bc and Malcolm -3ahc. Brian -3luw was 59 with surprisingly solid signal and then came the sleepy Klaus -9cqs also with good sig˙s.
Klaus had line open to Bill vk4zd and we called but had no responce. Contest made some QRM but mostly audibility was OK.
Propagations improved towards the end and maybe a later opening hour could do?

I listened also 40 earlier and was able to detect Doug -1bfs and yourself (Phil VK2MCB) on 7015 but both so weak that reading was impossible.

From Bill VK4ZD
At 2200z:
Diane VK4DI Heard Doug ZL1BFS at 59+20 and got 58
Diane contacted Klaus HB9CQS who was 55 and gave her 55 also.
Diane said that Phil VK2MCB was barely readable but Doug told her Phil said she was 21

From Phil VK2MCB
Douglas ZL1BFS was 59 and gave me 57
Diane VK4DI was 22
Vernon G0EGW as 33 and gave me 53
Klaus HB9CQS was 33 and gave me 33

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
No Report

2130z-2230z NA Transcontinental net on 14.285 July 29
From President Ed N4EDT

Net report for 7-29-2018
North American Transcon net. Net called by N4EDT on 14.285 MHZ. Informal net opened at 2100z with the formal net start at 2130Z.
Poor propagation continued to make the net activities challenging. The net timing straddles the timing of 20 meter propagation changes.
As the net progresses, the propagation shifts from the east coast to the central part of the country. We are studying the use of remote stations to gain coverage in on the west coast.
