ROAR Nets Report for Sunday 21st January 2018 and Tuesday 23rd January 2018
0730z - 0800z Anzo Net on 7,110

Doug ZL1BFS was 59+5
Klaus HB9CQS was 58 and gave me 55
Reg VK7KK was 58
Phil VK2MCB was 58 and gave me 59
Pertti EA7GSU was 44 and gave me 52-3
Peter VK3KCD was 59 and gave me 59 also
Jean-Pierre F1CFA was 22 and gave me 52 (via Klaus)
0800z- 0900z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,295.2 Long Path

The QSL website at 0605z gave SFI 70 A 8 K 1 and sunspots 0
Tadzigistan was S6 with slow QSB; Also a strong Italian station was 1.6kHz hf of the net frequency giving terrible splatter/QRM. Propagation poor and band went dead around 0843z.
YO9BC was 5.9+10dB at 0800, dropping to 5.8/9 when Coco reduced his modulation. Gave me 5.8/9.
G4HCK was weak here but “strong” with Coco
HB9CQS was also weak here and strong with Coco. EA7GSU was 5.5/6 with Coco
F1CFA was not heard here, or me there, but Jean Pierre was 5.9 with Coco
ZL1BFS was 5.5 here but Doug had poor copy of me; gave G3LUW 4.2; Doug was pkg 5.7 here at 0822 and Brian was only 2.1; Doug said Nick was 3.2 at 0825;
VK2MCB was called by Doug at 0830 but Phil was not heard here.
HB9CQS was 2.1 here at 0832 and gave Doug 4.2 and got 1.1
VK4ZD was first heard here at 2.1 at 8.32; Bill got 4.2 from Klaus
ZL1BFS was 2.2 here at 0835; Bill was only 1.1 here but gave Vernon 3.3
G0EGW called Bill at 0840; could just hear Bill, but had severe interference from the Italian. Vernon got 3.3 from Doug and gave 4.3; Vernon “hollow” but 5.1 here at 0843 in low noise
ZL1BFS was 5.1-5/QSB here at 0845 – “hollow” sounding but no noise –a strange effect!
G0EGW was pkg 5.7 with HB9CQS; Doug was 4.2 and Klaus was 5.6/7
ZL1BFS was 5.5 at 0848; gave Klaus 2.2 and got 4.2
G4HCK was 1.1 here in low noise; and was 4.4 with Vernon
I closed at 0850z, just as Bill was 3.1 and heard me at 4.3?
I left the net for 80m at 0900z

PA3AHC was transmitting when I arrived late for the net. Malcolm was 3.7 here but gave me 10/20dB over S9
G3JJR John was 5.9+10/15 dB
G3SZF Bob was 5.9 and suffering antenna damage
G7OAI John gave me 5.9+20dB, and G3JJR 5.9+5dB
G2FUU Tommy was 5.9+10dB
G4LXD Bill gave me 5.9+20dB; gave G3JJR 5.7, G3SZF 5.9, G3LUW 5.8; could mostly copy Alain; gave G2FUU 5.8 and G7OAI 4.7
F4GHB called in and was made most welcome. Alain was 4.7 with G3SZF but with QSB downwards. Gave me 5.9+. He was 5.8/9 here and 5.9 with G3LUW; only heard by G7OAI on Hack Green SDR; only heard in bursts by G3JJR
Tommy had celebrated his 97th birthday last week; Congrats from all!
G2FUU will be Net Control next week all being well; otherwise it will be G3LUW.
Tommy also said he would listen at 1800z for any callers to the net.
I closed the net at 10.00z

1700z – 1730z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,694 MHz
2230z - 2300z Informal Transcontinental net on 7.118 +/- QRM
0800z – 0830z Tuesday 12th December 2017 NZ 80-m net on 3,693
0700z - 0730z Tuesday 2nd January 2018 EUR 20m net on 14,295.2

The QSL website at 0605z gave SFI 70 A 9 K 0 and sunspots 12 (after 3 days at 0)
Sorry I couldn’t attend this net.
