Report from Ed N4EDT

During the month of January, the North American net was for the most part impossible due to poor propagation, and localized interference. The first net for the month of February was wonderful. We had a total of eleven checkins with several of those being first time checkins by Rotarians and past Rotary members. We also had a checkin from a past Rotarian located in Jamaica. Special thanks to W2RWA, Richard, and W2WLD, William. Both functioned as relay stations during the net. Richard first checked in. He was not aware of ROAR or ROAR activities and he immediately got on the phone to William and told him about ROAR. William fired up his station and joined the net. Both of them made a major contribution to the net by functioning as relay operators. Their efforts went a long way toward making the first ROAR net in February a success. Number of checkins were first noticed on the roarnetlogger.net web site. When you are aware that someone is attempting to check in, the relay operators can then assist in listening for the ckeckins.
