0600z - 0630z Anzo Net on 7,110
From Bill VK4ZD
NEW Start time 0630z next Sunday
Doug ZL1BFS was 5+5 and gave me 59+10
Peter VK3KCD was 57-8 and gave me 59
Pertti EA7GSU was initially 33 building to 4-55 and gave me 55
John G3OKT was 55-6 and gave me 43 building to 56-7
Klaus HB9CQS was 56-7 and gave me 54
John ZL2JPM was 56
Phil VK2MCB and I exchanged 9 reports
Vernon G0EGW was 55 and gave me 55-6

From John G3OKT
I joined the 40m net at 0615z. EA7GSU was heard at 5.7; Pertti gave me 5.8
ZL1BFS got 5.7 from EA7GSU. Doug was 4.4 here and gave me 4.3.
VK4ZD was not heard then by Pertti or me, but was 5.7/9 with Doug. A little later Bill and I exchanged 5.5 and 4.3.
VK3KCD was heard by Pertti, but I had no copy of Peter except perhaps Q1 at 0750z. Klaus heard Peter "Readability 3"
VK2MCB was called in by Bill but nothing heard.
HB9CQS was 5.9 here at 0625; Klaus said I was "a fine signal" and got 5.6 from Bill. Klaus got 5.4; I heard Bill at 4.6 but in S5 noise and with S6-7 QRN.
HB9CQS was called by ZL1BFS at 0628. Klaus was 5.9 to S9+10dB here, and gave Doug 5.5 in exchange for 5.7.
ZL2JPM was heard here Q3 at 0631 and Q5 by 0645. John was not as strong as Doug but was Q4 with Klaus.
At 0640, ZL2JPM and I exchanged 3.3 b/w (in bad QRN/QSB here)
EA7GSU and HB9CQS exchanged 5.9 b/w
VK4ZD and EA7GSU exchanged 5.5 b/w at 0635z. Bill said G3OKT was peaking 5.6. Bill was also 5.6 here at 0643z
HB9CQS was still 5.8 at 0645 - Klaus called VK2MCB but nothing heard.
G0EGW was called by VK4ZD at 0646. Bill gave Vernon 5.5 and got 5.6. Bill was 5.6/7 here at 0648 and Vernon 4.5 in QRM.
EA7GSU was 5.7 here and 5.5 with Bill
HB9CQS was down to 5.7 as I went back to 20m at 0700z. Vernon was now 5.9+15dB.
On balance, 40m was more noisy that 20m but VKs were stronger. Hardly any sign of ZLs however.

From Klaus HB9CQS
I am glad that we made it on 40M. Interesting. I didn’t expect that it would be possible to work Bill, not to mention Doug.

0700z- 0800z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,295.2 Long Path
(From Bill VK4ZD : NEW Start time)
From Brian G3LUW to VK4ZD
Nice to hear your voice this morning. I know we exchanged 5&5 at 0700, but I heard little else. I could hear Peter's voice, but was unable to copy. I continued listening and Diane suddenly appeared at 0742. She was using VI4ALARA and we exchanged 5&6 reports. You were 5&7 when you signed at 0750, and I also said good morning to Mikka OH2BAD. Let's hope this is the start of a general improvement in conditions.
From Bill to Brian
It was great to hear your voice.
Strange that your reception was so selective.
Because Miika had worked Diane on Saturday long path on 20m, we offered to let the ROAR members work her with the special call.
You can see all the detail on the call on QRZ.com. Glad you were able to make the contact :)
Let's just enjoy the condx while they last - seems like other years we have similar condx. It is just more noticeable this year because of the very poor condx preceding.
Hope Tues is just as good. On Sunday we had a few of the European members check into our 40 net on 7.110 before the 20m net.

From Bill VK4ZD
Peter VK3KCD and I exchanged 59 reports
John ZL2JPM was there at the beginning but signed after losing condx
Phil VK2MCB was 54 and gave me 57
Doug ZL1BFS was 55 at first but lost condx early on
Brian G3LUW was55 and gave 23 building to 55
Pertti EA7GSU was 22 building to 54
Nick G4HCK was 22 building to 54 and gave me 53
Vernon G0EGW was 55-7 and gave me 56-7 peaking at 59
John G3OKT was 44 and gave me 54
Miika OH2BAD was 56 and gave me 58
Klaus HB9CQSwas 58-9 and gave me the same
Malcolm PA3AHC was 44 and gave me 32-43
Jean-Pierre F1CFA and I exchanged 54 reports

From Jean Pierre F1CFA
I was in the net meeting this Sunday, recognized by Bill VK4ZD (we exchanged 55 B/W) and also with Miika much stronger 58/58. I also was heard by Pertti and I heard him 4 by 5. The local noise was very strong. It was a QRN one, very strange.

From John G3OKT
The QSL website at 0605z gave SFI 81 A 5 K 2 sunspots 12 (down).

VK4ZD was fluttering to 5.3 at 0727; gave Vernon 5.7
VK2MCB was in the net but not heard here.
I went QRT at 0733 but only after exchanging 5.6/7 b/w with Di as VI4ALARA and getting 5.5 at 0739. Di exchanged 5.7/8 b/w with G0EGW and gave Klaus 5.6 in exchange for 5.7.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT
G2FUU was net control; I joined late at 0817z.
G3JJR John said he would listen later for any callers at 1700z.
G3OKT apologised for having to miss next week's net. Having been reassured that the venue seemed suitable for the 2018 AGM, he would make the first reservation at the Hand Hotel, Llangollen.
The net closed at 0853z.

1700z – 1730z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,694 MHz

2230z - 2300z Informal Transcontinental net on 7.118 +/- QRM
From John ZL2JPM
Nets on Sunday were the “best” for some time and more notably so on 40m! I confirm the reports already reported in the Drafts and add that the Grey Line was well-matched between ZL and Europe on Sunday. I’d hope for continued QSOs over the next few months as this is what has occurred historically.
On a really positive note: ZL2JPM and AF1E (Joe) exchanged an excellent QSO on the IFROAR DSTAR Reflector REF626R (also XLX626R). This was the first IFROAR QSO on this DSTAR resource and possibly the first DSTAR QSO under the IFROAR banner elsewhere. It might be said that apart from DSTAR, there is no way Joe and I would ever have linked up on the HF nets.
