From John G3OKT
QSL at 0605z showed SFI 92 A 4 K 1 sunspots 34 (down from 58 on the 15th)
G0EGW was just heard here at 2.1 at 0600z but "fluttered up" to 4.1 by 0610. Vernon gave 5.3/4 for VK4ZD; talking to Bill at 0627 said he had poor copy. Heard G4HCK but no copy here.
YO9BC called CQ at 0600. Coco was 5.9 here.
HB9CQS very faint at 0602; gave 5.4 for "Bill" (VK4ZD?)
VK4ZD (Long Path) just heard but no copy here. Bill came up to 2.1 pointing E at 0610z.
VK2MCB talking to Bill at 0612 but no sign of Phil here. (Bill 5.7 here on Short Path with fast QSB to 5.4). Still no copy at 0625 when Bill handed over to Phil.
G4HCK got 5.3 to 7 from Bill; 5.5 at 0620.
HB9CQS got 2.1 from Bill at 0622. Klaus still only 2.1 here at 0635, recognisable 3.1 at 0647 but peaking 5.6 with Bill.
G0EGW difficult to copy here at 2.3 QSB; Vernon gave Nick 5.5 and was 5.6 pointing to me at 0635.
VK4ZD was a great sig 5.7 at 0625. Bill could hear Vernon and Klaus well - strongest sigs for Bill. Bill however was well down by 0640; said had not heard Coco at all.
PA3AHC got 5.2 from Bill at 0639.
F4GHB was called by VK4ZD at 0643. Alain gave Bill 4.8 and got 4.4
I left the frequency at 0653z as signals seemed to be dropping; however the QRG became a "zoo" at 0652 from QRM etc! (eg serious QRM from 7X5QB at 0646z)

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT who was net control
G3LUW was 5.9+20dB; Brian gave me and Bruce 5.9,
G0PCF was 5.7 with Brian and was 4.7 here (on the noise level). Bruce said that both G2FUU and G3JJR were weak; Bob, OKT and LUW were very strong.
G3SZF was 5.9 here. G3LUW and G3OKT were said to lose 1 S point during the net
G3JJR was 5.9 here; gave me 5.9+30 dB; said he had had no copy of G0PCF this net.
G2FUU and G3OKT exchanged 5.9 b/w; Tommy gave SZF 5.9+, PCF 4.7, JJR 4.7 and said LUW was not as strong as usual.
G4LXD was 5.8 with G3LUW. Bruce and Tommy were not as strong as usual with Bill.
Tommy G2FUU will be Net Control next week and John G3OKT the week after on July 30th.
A good discussion was had - Bruce is making progress all Europe with 10 watts using Digital modulation JT65

1700z – 1730z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,694 MHz
Tommy G2FUU said earlier that he would look in on this frequency at 6pm

2230z - 2300z Informal Transcontinental net on 7.118 +/- QRM
From Ed N4EDT
Propagation was very challenging with almost instant changes from unheard to S-9 signals. Often we were well heard but couldn’t hear the other party. Several of the checkins came by first checking into ROARnetlogger.com and then being called by net control. This coming week we will run a second net on 14.288. both before and after the 7.188 net. Efforts are continuing to expand and improve the Transcon net. Net called by N4EDT with assistance from WN5V.

Oops, I got my times mixed up and arrived 30 minutes late. Sorry!

From John G3OKT
At 0305z QSL gave SFI 86 A 27(red) sunspots 13
With an absorption figure of A27red, I was not expecting VK/ZL, but near-Europe proved to be magnificent!!
At 0615z PA3AHC and G3OKT exchanged 5.9+20dB b/w. Klaus gave Malcolm 5.7/9 in return for 5.6.
F1CFA copied G3OKT at 5.4 at best (4.2 earlier), and Malcolm at 5.4
HB9CQS beaming long-path to VK was 5.7 QSB and gave me 5.7-3 QSB but 100% copy.
Klaus called VK4ZD short path but received no answer
PA0SDZ heard PA3AHC weakly and got 5.3 from Malcolm; Les was 5.9+20dB here but 5.6 with HB9CQS
G0EGW and G3OKT exchanged 5.9 b/w; I was 5.5/7 earlier. Vernon gave PA3AHC 5.2, gave HB9CQS 5.9 in exchange for 5.8; gave F1CFA 5.8/9; gave PA0SDZ 5.8 and heard nothing from VK.
G3LUW and G3OKT exchanged 5.7 b/w. Brian was "a good signal" with Klaus; exchanged 5.9 b/w with both PA0SDZ and HB9CQS.
HB9CQS was 5.9 with PA0SDZ at 0635z. Les heard Jean Pierre well earlier but was gone by 0635.
G3LUW was up to 5.9+15dB here and on half power. Brian was 5.7/8 with Klaus who was still 5.7 here. Brian got 5.9+20dB from Les as I left the net at 0642z

That’s all for now!
