Clearly the condx were not in our favour even though the time was
optimal
From
John G3OKT
QSL figures at 0605z were SFI 72 A 20 (red) K 3 and
sunspots were zero for the 3rd day!
The new later time of the net seemed to
cause serious QRM from Italian stations 2 kHz higher, particularly for Pertti,
Jean Pierre and me. No significant opening appeared for VK or ZL.
Brian G3LUW
was heard first at 0830z, 5.2 here and Brian heard 50% of me at 3.3.
EA7GSU
and G3OKT exchanged 5.7 b/w. Pertti was consistently the strongest signal of the
net here, but complained of his S9+30dB QRM around 0900z!
HB9CQS Klaus was
5.7 with G3LUW; gave Pertti 5.9, Brian 5.3 and said G3OKT was unreadable
VK4ZD was called by Klaus and Pertti but Bill was never heard here. Klaus gave
5.3 and got 5.5; Pertti gave Bill 3.1 (just about readable)
PA3AHC was 5.5 to
5.8 QSB with Pertti. Malcolm just recognisable here when QRM low
F1CFA gave
Klaus 5.5 but Jean Pierre unreadable here and with Pertti
G4HCK got 5.7 from
Pertti at 0847; Nick was not heard here.
G0EGW was 5.1 here when QRM low;
Vernon gave Pertti 5.9+10dB and got 5.9; got 5.4 from Klaus
VK4ZD was very
weak and in QRM with Vernon, but came up to Q5 with Pertti.
IZ0DRC, a
visitor, exchanged 5.7 b/w with Pertti. Franko was 3.4 here.
F1CFA called in
at 0907z but copy was difficult here. I went QRT at 0912.
Pertti said he
would not be on the Tuesday net
From Jean Pierre F1CFA
We had a short contact on 20m this morning. TKS !
It appeared, with that
modification in the meeting time, that we are polluted by a greater lot of
stations getting out of bed !! The one we got this morning was an Italian, long
term speaking !!! It was impossible to copy a ROAR station for me, as I am too
close from the Italian OM.
Anyway, I was very
surprised to hear Malcolm in very good conditions
since he put a new antenna.
To reach the 80m British QSO, it was very
difficult this morning. Too weak signals. But G3LUW
heard me.
0900z - 1000z UK
80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT
– I QSY’d from the 20m ANZO net at 0915z to find a very busy post-Christmas RIBI
net!
G2FUU – Tommy found Bill G4LXD strong; G0PCF was “readable”
G3SZF was
5.9 here but suffering high noise there; Bob heard G7OAI at 5.7 to zero in QSB!
G0SQH was 5.9+10dB here; Derek was listening on Hack Green
G3JJR John said
Hack Green SDR was very good for PA3AHC, not for F1CFA, but G3SZF “very
readable.” G0SQH and G0PCF were OK but the SDR kept going down (it had 129 users
at 0950!) John was 5.9+10dB here with QSB.
G7OAI John was only 5.5 with
G3LUW, 5.9 here; heard Brian at 5.9+20dB in S9 noise!
G0PCF Bruce was 5.8
here
G4LXD Bill was 5.9+10dB b/w here; listening both on his local aerial and
to Hack Green.
G3LUW Brian gave F1CFA 5.7, PA3AHC 5.5, G4LXD 5.9 and G3OKT
5.9 b/w.
G0JWE Don was reported to be listening via the Hack Green SDR
G0EGW called in at 0927; Vernon was 5.9 here but suffered S9 interference
PA0AHC Malcolm called in at 0930. Good signal here at 5.5 to 2.3 QSB; he was the
only non-UK station heard by Tommy G2FUU. G3SZF gave Malcolm 3.3 but lost F1CFA
in the noise. Malcolm gave G3LUW 5.6 in exchange for 5.4; gave Les PA0SDZ 5.9;
and could just hear G2FUU
F1CFA Jean Pierre was heard by G3LUW
PA0SDZ Les
was 5.6 here ; 5.4 with G3LUW and gave 5.7
G7OAI should be at his higher /A
QTH next week.
G3OKT will be net control next Sunday; I went QRT at 1000z.

From Phil N9HWO
Ed N4EDT began calling CQ and over the next hour got several responses. With
Rotarians and non-Rotarians. Calls heard/worked included N9HWO (Phil), K7QS
(Bob), VE6BGL, W5CBO, KA0HDJ, and KDZ9FYS. I didn’t hear all the stations that
Ed N4EDT worked, and he didn’t hear all the stations that others worked, so my
list may be incomplete. It was a good group and I hope that more will join us
next Sunday.
From Ed Tyler N4EDT.
Stations heard, N9HWO Phil Fleming, K7QS Bob Mc
Farland, Rotary members. KD9FYS, Brian Polzin non-Rotarian.
The noise was
very high and reception was difficult but, this time we enjoyed some success. 73
and listen for the net next Sunday. We were heard by Wally Gardiner About S5
here in S6 noise.
From Bill VK4ZD
Great News.
Well done to everyone concerned.
From Pertti EA7GSU
Been there and heard
nobody!!
The band was just noise and a couple of qrm˙s from the village. But
like many things, you have to wait for the good things to happen, hi

QSL figures at 0610z were : SFI 71 A 12 K 2 sunspots zero
for the 6th day!
Band quiet at 0830 with a 5.8/9 Russian station right on our
frequency. He went QRT at 0843.
G3LUW was 4.3 and gave me 3.3 at 0836. Brian
called HB9CQS at 0837 – Klaus was not heard here then.
Faint voices in the

VK4ZD was
heard to say “good morning Brian” at 0850 – Bill was less than 2.1 here!
VKs
were still frustratingly under the noise at 0900
HB9CQS was 3.1 at 0902 –
Klaus apologized for late arrival; exchanged 4.4 b/w with VK4ZD. Klaus was
suddenly 5.7 for 1 second and then was gone. I went QRT at 0905z.
That’s all for now.
