The QSL website at 0605z gave SFI 70 A 3 K 0 and sunspots zero for the 3rd day!
Signals generally weak; VK/ZL were just hearable on the high-wire 80m doublet- all the spider quad offered was more noise!
QRM from a 5.7 Russian stn 1.7kHz higher made Klaus HB9CQS uncopiable at 0800z.
OH2BAD and G0EGW were heard faintly in the noise during 0800 to 0806z.
ZL1BFS gave Miika 5.4. Doug was 3.1 here, referred to VK4ZD but no copy of Bill here.
VK2IWT was called by Doug at 0812 but no copy of Noel here.
G3LUW called me at 0813 at 2.1. I responded but no return.
ZL1BFS held the net together as far as Eu was concerned; Doug gave G0EGW 5.6, G3OKT 3.1, G4HCK ? (Nick was just heard at 1.1 here at 0848)
G0EGW flashed up to S8 at 0825z but then was gone again!
VK4ZD was first heard here at 0832z – gave Nick 3.2 according to Doug.
HB9CQS was 3.1 here at 0838 calling G3LUW; Klaus was 5.8 with Doug who was now peaking 4/5.3-4.
VK4ZD gave G3LUW 4.4.
Klaus asked if anything had been heard of YO9BC recently; G3OKT and HB9CQS said they would email Coco to see if he is OK.

Good morning everyone.
Today’s net was a real challenge. Thank goodness Pertti was on with Klaus. At the start I was thinking I must have the wrong times but by 08.35 Pertti was 5.9 and I could just copy Klaus.
Anyway Happy New Year and let hope we get some good (well reasonable ) conditions to talk during the coming year.

Hi Roar Netters
Best wishes for the New Year. I was Maritime Mobile today in NZ’s Marlborough Sounds – had a great session with Phil (Vk2MCB) (55 in both directions) and, apart from a spot of noise and a persistent Woodpecker interference, easy copy under the circumstances.
Amazing what you can get from a simple backstay antenna and 100w. Local noise is entirely your own and propagation over water is rather better than on land.
No evidence of European stations, so forgive us for not being sociable.
From Pertti EA7GSU
A challenge indeed!
I was there at 0800 shot and was able to recognise voices of Bill and Phil. I would give 11 to both. Same situation 25min later. But we got together Les, PA0SDZ, Nick G4HCK, Malcolm PA3AHC and Klaus HB9CQS. Histories of the Festive time changed with wishes made to have at least as good prop’s as last year.
Happy New Year to everybody! Pertti
Happy New Year to All and 73s,
