From John G3OKT
Unusual (poor) propagation; serious Contest QRM at first.
YO9BC was 5.9 here; Coco was 5.9+10dB with HB9CQS in exchange for 5.9; Klaus said Coco was 5.9+40dB between QRM!
VK4ZD was 5.5 here, coming up to 5.6 at 0854, and gave me 5.6; Bill remained the strongest of the VK signals and found other VKs to the south seemed “encapsulated” at lower strength. Bill gave G3LUW 5.7 but with QSB right out! EA7GSU gave Bill 5.8/9 at 0816z.
G3LUW could copy VK2IWT; gave Klaus 5.6; gave G3OKT 5.5
HB9CQS was only 2.1 here in Contest QRM; came up later to 5.4 but never to his usual strength! Klaus gave G3LUW 5.4, gave G3OKT 4.3, gave VK2IWT 5.3, gave VK3KCD 4.3 in exchange for 5.5.
VK2IWT was 3.3 with Bill; Noel gave Klaus 5.8 but was just a voice here – no copy.
VK3KCD got 2.2 from Bill; I had no copy of Peter here.
EA7GSU gave Bill 5.7, G3LUW 5.2, and HB9CQS 5.9+10dB in exchange for 5.9. Pertti suddenly came up here to 5.9 at 0750z, just as he said I came up from 4.1 to 5.9+10dB; Pertti gave VK2MCB 2.1, VK2IWT 1.1, VK3KCD no copy, PA3AHC 5.9, F4GHB 3.1, and G4HCK 3.1.
F4GHB was 5.7/8 with Bill; Alain barely heard here at 2.1
PA3AHC also just heard here; Malcolm was 100% copied by VK4ZD.
G4HCK was only 2.1 here; Nick got 5.6/7 from VK4ZD.
VK2MCB also only 2.1 here; Phil gave me 4.1, Alain 5.3’ gave EA7GSU 4.1 and got 3.1; was 5.5 with VK4ZD.
PA0SDZ (I think) came in at 0822; Les not coped here but gave Klaus 5.7 in exchange for 5.4?
VK4BLZ (in Toowoomba) was heard by HB9CQS at 0822; Len gave Klaus 5.7 and received 5.4.
The net closed at 0827; VK4ZD was still 5.6 here.

G3LUW was 5.9+10dB, and was hearing G3JJR at 5.5-6
G2FUU was 5.9 to 5.9+10dB QSB
G3JJR was 5.4/5 running on a whip antenna on top of the car; said I was going up and down in QSB, coming up a lot at 0947. John was still 5.5 here.
PA3AHC Malcolm called in but I had no copy here
G4LXD was 5.9+10dB here; gave 5.9 to all except G3JJR whom he could not hear. Bill got 5.9 from G3LUW.

From John G3OKT
I called in briefly at 1505 en-route to cutting the hedge! Pertti EA7GSU was 5.7 and gave me 5.8
HB9CQS gave Pertti 5.9+10dB. Klaus was 5.5 here down to 2.3-4.3 as he turned his beam towards the west.
Pertti was calling CQ US members of ROAR but received no response.
PA3AHC Malcolm could just be heard here (3.1) but was not copying me.
I left at 1515z.

From Phil N9HWO
At 1500 UTC, I listened and called on 14.310, and heard some very distant stations but could not make them out. Band conditions were poor at that time.
I will not be on ROAR frequencies on 22 March as I will be traveling and attending a Diocesan Holy Week Chrism Mass.
Also, next Sunday is Easter Sunday, and I will not be on the air at 1500 UTC. I probably won’t be on the air at 2000 UTC either.

1800z – 1830z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,693

2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287/8 or 14.310
From Phil N9HWO
Two Spanish-speaking stations with strong signals were having a QSO. Conditions were good, but I did not hear any ROAR stations on nearby or alternate frequencies. I worked several QSOs on nearby frequencies.

0730z - 0800z Tuesday 22 March 2016 EUR net on 14,295.2 / 7,136 +/-

From John G3OKT
Sorry missed today’s sked – late night last night due to Club Charter Night.

From Brian G3LUW
Called Peter VK3KCD. He gave me 5&9 and was 5&7 here. Almost the same with Phil VK2MCB. I was unable to copy Bill VK4ZD throughout, although I could hear his voice. Pertti told me Bill was copying me at 5&6. Pertti EA7GSU was 5&9 both ways. Klaus HB9CQS and I exchanged 5&6 reports. I had no copy at all on Malcolm PA3AHC. At about 0745 conditions started to deteriorate. By 0755 I had no copy on Australia and Klaus was very weak. I closed down on the hour, with Pertti still a good signal.

That’s all for now,
73s from John G3OKT
