From John G3OKT
Signal levels came & went with deep QSB, but also a rapid flutter which reduced intelligibility.
YO9BC called CQ and exchanged 5.9 b/w with G3OKT.
Coco’s modulation suggests over drive – medium range voice is louder than driven ends to phrases.
EA7GSU and G3OKT exchanged 5.6 b/w; Pertti gave Coco 5.7 and got 5.9+10dB.
VK4ZD peaked 5.6, gave G3OKT 5.6 then faded out at 0812z. Came back at 4.4 at 0820z. Bill gave Pertti 5.7 and Coco 5.8.
Woodpecker appeared at 0801z at S9+30dB!
F1CFA Jean Pierre was hard to hear here.
VK2MCB gave VK4ZD 5.7; Phil was copying everyone at 5.7
VK2IWT gave Bill 5.6 and got 5.5. Noel was only just hearable here.
ZL1BFS gave both EA7GSU 5.4 and G3OKT 5.5. Doug was peaking S5 here but with fast flutter. Doug was 5.9+5dB with Bill.
VK3KCD Peter was 4.4 here and gave G3OKT 4.3; gave HB9CQS 5.7, F4GHB 5.5, and VK2MCB 5.5
HB9CQS was 5,9+20dB here at 0840z (even readable over the woodpecker!), was 5.8/9 with Coco. Klaus said Doug was very weak and Bill very strong at 5.9+10dB. Klaus gave both YO9BC and EA7GSU 5.9, gave VK2IWT 5.4/5, VK2MCB 5.6/8, G3OKT 5.9+20dB, F1CFA 5.3 and ZL1BFS 5.6-7.
F1CFA was only 4.3 here. Jean Pierre gave VK2MCB 5.2, ZL1BFS 5.1, Coco 5.9, Pertti 5.2, Klaus 5.5 and G3OKT 5.2.
VK2MCB was down to 2.1 here at 0810z; Phil exchanged 5.7 b/w with Alain, gave Klaus 5.9, Doug 5.7, and Jean Pierre 5.4 and then exchanged 5.5 b/w with G3OKT!
ZL1BFS had a fluttery signal at 2.5 at 0817 which was difficult to copy.
F4GHB gave Bill 5.9, Phil 5.7, Noel 5.5, Doug 5.7, Klaus 5.8, Jean Pierre 5.5. Alain again was a fluttery 4.5 here.
G4HCK was 5.5 here; gave VK4ZD 5.5 and got 5.6, Nick gave VK2MCB 5.3.
Vitor CT1BJZ was 5.9, gave 5.7 QSB for VK4ZD and got 5.8 from Bill (?); gave Malcolm 4.4, gave 5.3/4 for ZL1BFS, gave VK3KCD 4.4, and gave G3OKT up to 5.9+25dB in deep QSB!
VK3KCD was 4.3 here; Peter also got 5.2/3 from G4HCK
PA3AHC exchanged 4.3 to 5.5 b/w in QSB with VK4ZD. F1CFA (“in Malcolm’s backyard”) was 5.9! Malcolm gave Pertti 5.7; Malcolm “fluttered” up to 5.5 here.
At 0829, VK4ZD with less flutter came up to 5.6 and by 0835 was a solid 5.7 here. Bill said I was peaking 5.7 at 0848, and that he could now hear everyone.
F1CFA suddenly came up and exchanged 5.9 b/w with G3OKT, gave Malcolm 5.9; gave EA7GSU 5.2/3, G4HCK 5.2; and gave F4GHB 5.5.
F4GHB was 5.5 here at 0842 and gave VK3KCD 5.6, Pertti 5.9+. PA3AHC 5.5 and CT1BJZ 5.9+.

0900z -1000z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT who was net control.
G2FUU Tommy was not so strong as usual at a steady 5.8.
G3SZF Bob also said signals were down.
G7OAI was 5.9 QSB here, again less than usual. John said Tommy was in his noise; I copied both at 5.9+.
PA3AHC Malcolm was heard by Tommy and G3OKT. He was 5.7 here; gave me 5.9+10dB.
G3SZF was the strongest at 5.9+20dB; found G7OAI a good signal and gave Malcolm 5.7 QSB.
G4LXD Bill and G3OKT exchanged 5.9+20dB b/w. Bill was only 5.6-8 with G7OAI and occasionally heard John at 4.5. Tommy was in part unreadable for Bill.
John G7OAI would not be on the net next week. Net control will be arranged with G3LUW by email. G3SZF may also miss next week depending on progress with tree lopping and affect on aerials.
Marion’s ankle had improved to the extent that she and Bill hope now to be able to attend the ROAR/RIBI AGM in May.
Nick, G4HCK had already e-mailed his apologies for the AGM.
The net closed at 0947z.

From Bill VK4ZD
Klaus HB9CQS was 59 peaking to 59+5 and gave me 57-9
Les PA0SDZ was 44 but built to 55. He gave me 55-6
Pertti EA7GSU was 44-55 and gave me 55
Phil VK2MCB was 57

John G3OKT built from 33 to 44 to 55 and gave me 55-6

From John G3OKT
I was late – at 0810z, I exchanged 5.7 b/w with EA7GSU who gave VK2MCB 4.1 and “was copying” VK4ZD. I had no copy of Phil at all.
HB9CQS was 5.6, giving Phil 5.4/5 in exchange for 5.7, and giving PA3AHC 4.3.
PA0SDZ gave 5.8 for Pertti and got 5.7/8, and gave 5.6 for VK4ZD, but Les was only 2.3 here in the noise. At 0848 Les and Phil exchanged 5.3.
VK4ZD was initially “no copy” here except syllables in the noise, but suddenly came up to 5.5 solid. Bill gave me 3.3 up to 5.5 at 0835z. Bill was 5.4 with Pertti.
PA3AHC was only 2.1-3 with QSB; gave PA0SDZ 4.3, heard only a few words from Bill, and just heard G3OKT on the fringe of his noise. Pertti gave Malcolm 5.7-8.
F1CFA suddenly came in here at 5.9+ b/w at 0845, but Jean Pierre only gave Klaus 4.2-3 in exchange for 4.3, and heard Pertti in the noise. Bill gave J-P 5.5.
At 0848 Jean Pierre gave 5.2 for VK2MCB and exchanged 5.9 b/w with PA0SDZ.
HB9CQS suddenly came up here to 5.9+20dB b/w at 0847z!
Pertti also came up to 5.9 here at 0840z. Neither Klaus nor Pertti could copy Phil. Pertti was 5.7-8 with Klaus.
The net closed at 0847z.
