From Bill VK4ZD
Peter VK3KCD was 58 and gave me 59+10
Phil VK2MCB was 56 and gave me 58
John ZL2JPM was 57-8 and gave 58-9
John G3OKT was 56 building to 57-8 and gave me 55 building to 57
Noel VK2IWT was 44 and gave me 55
Pertti EA7GSU was initially 56 and built to 58 and gave me 57 building to 59
Klaus HB9CQS was 59+5 and gave me 59
Nick G4HCK was 56-7 and gave me 55
Vitor CT1BJZ was 57 and gave me 57
Malcolm PA3AHC was 56-7 and gave me 55-6
I went QRT at 0904z
From John G3OKT
Band noise seemed high; as Pertti said, it was like looking through a fog; eg., typically a report of an ANZO station from Europe of 2.1 was returned as 4.1.
VK4ZD was heard immediately at 5.5, growing through 5.6 to 5.7. Bill gave me 5.7.
EA7GSU gave Bill 5.9 at 0855.
VK2MCB exchanged 5.8 b/w with Bill; Phil gave G3OKT 5.3, growing to 5.5; he was 5.4 here.
VK3KCD was only 2.1 here and 5.8 with Bill
VK2IWT was just recognizable by voice but no copy here – 1.1?. Noel was 4.4 with Bill.
ZL2JPM likewise 1.1 here, 5.7/8 with Bill and 5.5 with Phil. John seemed stronger at 0844 and Q3 but still only S1. John gave Vitor 5.1 and got 4.3.
EA7GSU was 5.5 to S7 with VK4ZD, and 5.8 here. Pertti gave ZL2JPM 5.3 and got 5.6; gave both G3OKT 5.9 and VK2IWT 2.1; gave VK2MCB 3.1.
HB9CQS was hardly heard at first and then “unusually weak” here at 5.5 (beaming away?). Klaus gave Bill and Pertti 5.9; gave VK3KCD 5.3-4, VK2MCB 5.5, VK2IWT 5.4 and ZL2JPM 5.6. At 0835 (due to overload?) Klaus suddenly disappeared
G4HCK Nick gave Bill 5.9 and got 5.6, was only 2.1 here and gave me 4.3; exchanged 4.4 b/w with VK2MCB; gave Noel 4.1 and Vitor 4.7.
PA3AHC was 5.6/7 with Bill but 2.1 – difficult copy here, perhaps due to his antenna problem. Malcolm was 5.7 with CT1BJZ. Vitor exchanged 5.7 b/w with Bill; gave G3OKT 5.9 and got 5.7. HB9CQS exchanged 5.9 b/w with Vitor.
VK2MCB gave Vitor 4.1; Vitor could only weakly hear Phil.
VK2IWT was only 2.1 in the noise here. Noel gave Klaus 5.7 at 0825 and got 5.4.
EA7GSU exchanged 5.1 b/w with VK2MCB at 0825; gave 5.9 to Bill and Klaus; and gave Vitor 5.8.
Nick asked Bill about the Convention station HL16RI. Bill said he was very busy – would e-mail him to get notice of when he might be on which band - even if he might be on ROAR 20m net?
Next Sunday, this net will be timed half-hour earlier ie, 0730z- 0830z. The immediate Tuesday 20m net will stay at 0800z-0830z.
From the log of VK2MCB

0900z -1000z UK 80-metre Net on 3,695
G2FUU, Tommy was net controller
From G3OKT :
Only 3 stations this week. G3LUW Brian had told Tommy that he would be busy hedging; G7OAI had made a start with house repairs.
G2FUU was 5.9+15 here with but deep QSB as reported by G0SQH
G0SQH Derek was 5.9 here down to 5.7 in QSB. Tommy also reported fading.
The net closed at 0925z.
1200z – 1300z TransAtlantic Net on 14,287/8 or at 1500z on Sunday on 14287kHz or 14.310MHz
From Phil N9HWO
I have, for the time being, discontinued any attempts on any frequency prior to 1500 UTC.
At 1500 UTC, I called and listened on 14.310 only. There was very little activity, and no replies were heard.
(Pertti confirmed on the later Tuesday net that he will continue to listen and work the 14310 net.)
From Pertti EA7GSU
Sunday Atlantic net at 1500 hrs utc on 14310kHz:
My apologies for everyone but especially to Phil, N9HWO who has with admirable persistence tried all the historic frequencies without any response. One day we make it. I was deviated by a neighbour over the main gate discussion without checking the time. But half an hour later running to the shack, opening the radio and shouting the first call I got TWO replies: The stronger one was John, VE9NF who gave me 58 and was 57/9 himself, no rotarian though. But the other was Bob, G3SZF who was 55 to begin with but grew to 57 during the chat. He gave me 57 but my beam was almost 90° off the right direction.
So there is a path to NA, we just have to find it! I’ll be there again next Sunday, God willing!
1800z – 1830z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,693
G2FUU Tommy said earlier that he would listen for any callers.

2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287/8
From Phil N9HWO
At 2000 UTC, I called and listened on 14.287 and had a nice QSO with a station in North Texas. There was a QSO party in progress and I had some contacts with them. No ROAR stations were worked.
0700z – 0730z Tuesday 1 March 2016 NZ 80-m net on 3,693
0800z - 0830z Tuesday 1 March 2016 EUR net on 14,295.2 / 7,136 +/-
Net time next Tuesday 8 March will be 0730 – 0800z
Prop. forecast at 0605utc was SFI 91 A 5 K 2 sunspots 44
From Bill VK4ZD
Brian G3LUW was 55 building to 56-7 and gave me 55-7
Klaus HB9CQS was 57 and gave me 56-7

Phil N9HWO had already e-mailed to the effect :
I will not be working any stations on (this) Tuesday. If anyone wants to have a QSO with me, please email me at
From John G3OKT
I was late to this net at 0820z. Conditions were good but deteriorating – hence the agreement that the net next Tuesday should begin 30 minutes earlier.
EA7GSU was 5.8 on my doublet but a fine 5.9 on the low spider quad. Pertti heard me at 5.9. Klaus heard Pertti at 5.9+10dB
VK4ZD was 5.4 here and 5.4 to 5.7 with with Brian G3LUW. Bill gave Brian 5.5/7 and heard me at 3.3; Bill heard Malcolm at 4.3/6.
HB9CQS Klaus was 5.8 here, gave me 5.8/9, and was not hearing Malcolm 100%.
PA3AHC was 4.3/4 here, got 5.9 from Pertti and gave him 5.8; could just hear Brian at 5.4; heard Pertti at 5.8/9 and VK4ZD at 4.2.
VK2MCB Phil heard me at 3.1 but was barely readable here in the noise.
HB9CQS was down to 5.7 by 0834 and only getting me at 5.6;
EA7GSU was still 5.8-9 on the spider quad.
Malcolm came up to 4.3 and gave me 4.4
