0700z - 0800z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,295.2 Long Path
From John G3OKT
With forecast Absorption of 42 (even 46 10 hrs previously) it was no surprise that the band seemed dead at 0700. Conditions suddenly changed for the better at 0735. (At 0718, “woodpecker” came up from S7 to S9+10dB)
PA0SDZ Les was just heard to give Pertti 5.4 at 0733
HB9CQS was only a recognizable voice in the noise at 0705 and was never strong – only 5.1 here at 0756 when Klaus gave G3LUW 5.4 and got 5.7 from Brian; Klaus gave ZL1BFS 5.6/7 and got 5.8/9 from VK4ZD.
G3LUW came up from 1.1 at 0710 to 5.5 at 0713.
EA7GSU was 2.1 here at 0725 working VK4ZD; Pertti gave Bill 5.8 at 0727. At 0738 Pertti shot up to 5.8 here exchanging 4.1/2 with VK2MCB
G3LUW gave Bill 5.8 at 0740 and got 5.6-7. G3OKT got 5.5-5.6 from Bill.
VK4ZD was barely copying Phil VK2MCB - 3.3 down to nothing.
ZL1BFS exchanged 5.5 with Pertti; gave 3.3 for both G3OKT and G3LUW.
F1CFA got 5.9+10dB from Pertti; Jean Pierre only just copiable here.
VK4ZD was peaking 5.5 here at 0748; up to 5.7 by 0750.
EA7GSU gave G3LUW 5.1 and G3OKT 5.8!
G4HCK Nick was just heard here getting 5.5 from VK4ZD.
VK2IWT Noel not heard here.
F1CFA still only 2.1 here at 0752 trying to call Doug. Jean Pierre was 5.3 with Klaus.
EA7GSU said Bill was down to 5.3 at 0755; Pertti said Doug had been 5.5 earlier but then down to 5.3. Doug heard Pertti at 5.3 as well. Pertti and Brian exchanged 5.9+ at 0755.
G4HCK gave EA7GSU 5.7 and got 5.9.
Bill said to Klaus that a number of VK stations were lining up to make contacts later on the North American Transcontinental Net at 2000z. The net closed at 0800.

0900z -1000z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT
Heavy QSB of 20dB below all reports, but the low noise level meant we were hardly aware! Good quality net.
G3LUW Brian was net control, 5.9+20dB here.
G7OAI John was at home this week - 5.9+10dB here, 5.9+ with G3LUW. Gave G3OKT 5.9+20dB
G3SZF Bob and G2FUU Tommy were both 5.9 here.
Interesting discussion on a number of topics, including state of the QTH move of John G3JJR.
G3OKT noted that Pertti had restarted attendance on 14.287MHz at 2000z.
G3LUW will be net control next week.
The net closed at 0944z.
From G3JJR John, by e-mail :
Thanks Brian’s e-mail. It was great to hear from you, I do miss the weekly natters although I get John's reports.
The move went fairly well but I've nowhere near the cupboard or storing place I had before. Hence I've still a lot to unpack so when I find it I will take the rig for repair! I will need a day out. Antennas will be a problem: Although I have a quantity of poles I've little to attach them to. A ham friend is visiting me tomorrow so I'll see if he has any ideas.
For the record I'm now a member of the Rotary club of Newcastle, Staffs.
Please convey my best wishes to the net: I will return a.s.a.p. and will keep trying to hear you with my eton rx
1800z – 1830z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,693
Tommy G2FUU had said earlier that he would check for any stations.
2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287
From Pertti EA7GSU
As I was afraid, the propagations were non - existing! The band was completely empty but I started to call at 2000 utc. Slowly something started to transpire through the noise at 2006utc. I recognised the voice of Joe, AF1E but not readably , rs = 21. He was talking to someone, which I after a while thought to be Ken, W8SOO. Joe disappeared but Ken grew to be 53 at it’s best (about for 10 sec!). I tried to call on cw but my guns aren’t strong enough!
Ken disappeared to background noise at 2029 utc.
There has been brilliant prop’s at that hour, the luck just wasn’t with us this time. But the band appeared to be open on US side and I thought to have heard many more call signs responding to Joe.
From Bill VK4ZD
No-one was copyable on this net. Peter VK3KCD and possibly Phil VK2MCB was present but no propogation in VK.

0700z – 0730z Tuesday 10th November 2015 NZ 80-m net on 3,693
0700z – 0730z Tuesday 10th November 2015 EUR net on 14,295.2 / 7.136+/-
From John G3OKT
Poor propagation forecast persists : SFI 108 A red26 K 4 sunspots 67 (falling); Taken high doublet down to protect against high winds, so listened on the low spider quad. Called CQ 0705, 0715 and 0725 but no response.
HB9CQS Klaus was heard at 4.1 here at 0718
EA7GSU Pertti just detectable at 2.1, “wafting” up to Q5 at 0724 in QSO with VK4ZD (not heard here)
Went QRT at 0725z
From Klaus HB9CQS
Tuesday’s nets seen from the Swiss alps.
07:00z on 14295.2 Long path
VK4ZD was 58-59 here. Got 58.
PA0SDZ and F1CFA were skipped out.
EA7GSU was 59+10 and gave me 59.
At 07:29z G3LUW had increased to 53. I missed my report from Brian.
07:30z on 7137
In fact we started at 07:34z.
EA7GSU was 58. Gave me 59.
F1CFA was 56-57. Gave me 59+20.
G3LUW was 57. Brian disappeared again before I managed to take down my report.
PA0SDZ was 57 and gave me 59+10.
And then I got my first 40m VK QSO ever! VK4ZD was 55-56 here with quick QSB but perfectly readable. Bill gave me 55 peaking 56.
Substituting my old 5 element Fritzel with the Ultrabeam UB50 was a big job. The 40m net this morning was a great relief! It showed that the UB50 performed as well as I had hoped – and not yet dared to believe.
From Bill VK4ZD
Jean-Pierre F1CFA initially 33 and gave me 51. He built up to 55-6
Klaus HB9CQS was 58
Les PA0SDZ was 54 and gave me 55
Pertti EA7GSU was initially 53-4 and gave me 51. He ultimately built up to 57 and gave me 57 then 59
QSY'd to 7.137 at 0734z
Pertti EA7GSU was 53 and gave me 51
Klaus HB9CQS was 55-6 and gave me 55
I struggled to hear Les PA0SDZ, Jean Pierre F1CFA, Brian G3LUW in the noise.

That’s all for now,
Having knee replacement on Nov 14 but will be back on ROAR Nets as soon as I can get into the shack ! (2 weeks?)
