2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287
From Bill VK4ZD
Sorry, I overslept for this net. Peter VK3KCD was there but no contact.
From Pertti EA7GSU
It didn’t work but nearly! At 2000 utc band was dead but “whispering behind five doors” was audible. 1 kc up was N3OC nearly readable which then increased to well readable, I would say rs 55 at the best. About 2020 utc more and more stations pushed through and at half past the band was full of readable but weak stations. Sweepstakes contest going on. Some stations reached up to s9 in peaks. Then 2040 utc suddenly stations started to sink into the noise and abt an hour from the start of net band was quiet again.
Either we are early or it was just a coincidental spurt.
I will not be there next Sunday because of CQWW but I am not giving up yet. So: in two weeks time we’ll see!?
From Phil N9HWO
Tried to check in on the North America ROAR net at 2000 UTC yesterday (11/22), but with one high-powered station on 14.285 and another on 14.288, both involved in the Sweepstakes contest, I would have been lucky to be heard outside my own back yard.
