VK4ZD was heard first at 5.7/8. Bill gave me 5.7 but started going down in QSB at 0615, was peaking 5.5 at 0640, and disappeared into the noise at 0656.
F1CFA gave Bill 5.7 and got 5.5/7 but no trace of Jean Pierre here.
OH2BAD was quickly 5.9+20dB here. Miika gave Bill 5.3 to 5.7 and could just hear VK2MCB. At 0648, Miika gave Malcolm 5.9+ and got 4.4 from VK4ZD (no copy of other VKs). Miika said he will miss next Sunday’s net for Friedrichshafn.
VK2MCB Phil was 4.3 here at 0633; gave VK4ZD and F1CFA both 5.5 and got 5.3 from Jean Pierre, said both G3OKT and OH2BAD were 4.3, gave G3LUW 5.5 and got 5.6, gave EA7GSU 5.7, gave ZL2JPM 5.6 and said he could just hear PA3AHC.
HB9CQS was 3.4 here at 0606, was peaking 5.9 with VK4ZD and still S5 with Bill at 0640 when Klaus was 5.6 here. At 0637 Klaus gave Bill 5.3. Earlier, HB9CQS gave G3LUW 3.2, G3OKT 1.1, OH2BAD 5.7, had no copy of F1CFA nor ZL2JPM nor PA3AHC, nor G4HCK. At 0700 Klaus was 5.9+20dB here and gave me 5.9+5dB.
G4HCK was 2.1 here; Nick was 5.5 b/w with VK4ZD; had no copy of F1CFA nor ZL2JPM. Nick went QRT at 0647 when he thought that signals “coming and going” presented a real challenge! By now Nick was 5.3 here.
PA3AHC was Q5 with VK4ZD but was just a trace here and with G3LUW later at 0650.
VK5KAT gave VK4ZD 5.7. Tony was not heard here.
G3LUW said VK4ZD was 5.9 at 0600 but down to 5.7 by 0621. Brian had no copy of ZL2JPM nor VK5KAT. By 0653 Brian was peaking 5.5 here and was 5.6 with VK4ZD. Brian said that he had heard ZW11ROAR in Brazil but made no contact.
ZL2JPM was not heard here. John was 5.6 with both VK2MCB and VK4ZD.
VK2BX was a clear 5.5 here and with G3LUW and was copying me; Brian (VK2) had no copy of ZL2JPM and was 5.6 with VK4ZD.
EA7GSU first announced his presence on CW. At 0618 Pertti was only 1.1 here but was 5.3 to 2.2 with VK4ZD. By 0628 Pertti was 5.8 here but gave me 3.1. 0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT who was net controller.
Usual fierce S7 noise here but I had copy of all stations, though Bruce was just on my noise level. No QSB today but signals down.
G2FUU was 5.9 here and could read everyone, though needed phones for G7OAI and said G3LUW was noticeably down on his usual strength.
G3LUW was 5.9+10dB here and was getting all signals at 5.9, except Bruce at 5.7.
G7OAI/P was 5.9 here, gave G0PCF 5.7 and 5.8 for both G3LUW and G2FUU.
G0PCF was 5.8 here, though faded into the noise later, said he needed the Hack Green SDR to hear G7OAI/P
We discussed various Rotary projects like Health Awareness and Street Collections. Telford was suggested for next year’s AGM but rejected as ROAR has been there several times before. Harrogate still looks to be the favourite.
Tommy said he will be net control next week. G3OKT will be away from home.
The net closed at 0845.
1800z – 1830z  RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,693
Both G2FUU and G3LUW had said this morning that they would not be able to listen on this frequency for any ROAR members. G3OKT attended briefly but heard nothing.

From Bill VK4ZD
Conditions were almost non-existent but I did chat for a few minutes
with Phil VK2MCB who was 55.
From John G3OKT
According to UK AuroraWatch, there was a significant solar flare at 0500z today. Correspondingly, the A=54 prediction explains the near-complete emptiness of 20m this morning. I called CQ every few minutes from 0600z until 0615z with no response, except from Klaus who was a clear 5.5 for 3 minutes and then disappeared. G3OKT will also miss the nets on Sunday 28th and Tuesday 30th grandchild-sitting!
From Klaus by e-mail : Hi John, Cannot copy any stations on this Tuesday morning. I have to go QRT now. I will be away on this coming Sunday. (HB9CQS)
From Malcolm PA3AHC  I also had no luck this morning on 20m , hearing only John and Klaus well down in the noise .
Ditto 80m on Sunday with horrific QRN+M ! Cheers + 73 “s, De Malcolm/PA3AHC
PS : Confirming Pertti’s  useful patch – through on Sunday , Raffaele and his Italian gang are back in contact ! Details follow to Bill and John.
From Jean Pierre F1CFA I just heard HB9CQS with a 52 signal and QSB...He was also calling for VK4ZD
And also a certain G3OKT in the back ground...( 41 no more ).
That's all for now.
Sorry for the next Sunday meeting...
But enjoy the grand fathers capability !!!!!!
That’s all for now
73’s from John G3OKT
