0600z - 0700z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,295.2 Long Path
From John ZL2JPM
I’m afraid that the ZL’s are going through a rough patch – typical for this time of the year when the MUFs are scarcely over 14Mhz and the greyline is well over Australia on Sundays at 0600z. Things will improve and I was seeing some of it on the 5th July when there was some distant copy to Britain. Hopefully the copy will steadily improve.
Also pleased to see that membership is steadily moving along in UK.

From John G3OKT
From QRZ : SFI 117 A 19 (red, fast rising) K 6 sunspots 111 (rising)
Propagation better than last week; VK and ZL heard well to begin with but signals dropped away at 0630. Europe patchy.
VK4ZD was a clear 5.5 at 0600 and stayed up for 20 minutes but dropped to 3.2 by the end of the net. Bill gave me 5.5/6 (also a steady 5.5 on the spider quad which gave much lower noise reception here).
G3LUW was hearable most of the time, and “wafted” up to S3 at times.
Brian exchanged 5.6 b/w with Bill, gave HB9CQS 5.5 and OH2BAD 5.9.
OH2BAD was 5.9+5dB here initially, rising to S9+20dB by 0643. Miika heard all UK stations at 5.9, gave HB9CQS 5.7, and was 5.5 with both VK4ZD (later 5.7) and VK2MCB. It was great to hear Alizah, VK4FOXE at home, in good voice over Miika’s station.
ZL1RD Rob was 4.3 here and 5.9+10dB with Bill
G4HCK was initially only 2.1 here, but got 5.5-6 from VK4ZD. Nick came up to 4.3 here at 0650.
HB9CQS peaked 4.4-5 here; Klaus gave Rob 5.3, had no copy of G3LUW nor G4HCK, gave G3OKT 1.1; gave VK2MCB 5.2 to 5.7 and was 5.8 with VK4ZD.
ZL2JPM was 3.3 here; John exchanged 5.9 b/w with VK4ZD.
VK2MCB gave 5.9+ to both ZL1RD and ZL2JPM; gave G3LUW 5.5 (later 5.6 b/w); gave VK4ZD 5.9+ and got 5.8; Phil was 5.3 here and gave me 5.3-4; Phil gave OH2BAD 5.5 and got 5.4. Phil was down to 4.1 here by 0647.
PA3AHC was just a trace here and even that was gone by 0645. Malcolm gave VK4ZD 4.3 and got 3.3.
As the net ended at 0653, Klaus was not touching the S meter (<S1) but was Q4. Brian LUW later said I was 5.5 with him. I will be away from home next Sunday.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT
G3LUW was net control today. Brian was 5.9+10dB here throughout, though all signals were 10 – 20dB down on previous strengths and had slow QSB.
At one point G3OKT faded down from 5.9 to 5.5 with G3SZF! Bob was 5.8-9 here and 5.9 QSB with G3LUW.
G7OAI/P was between 5.8 and 5.9+10dB here in QSB. John was 5.9+10dB with Tommy, who thought G3LUW was down on usual at 5.8/9. Was 5.9 with Brian. John was in the noise for Brian but Q4-5 with slow QSB.
The net closed at 0838.
John G7OAI/P will be net control next week. Apologies from G3OKT.

1800z – 1830z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,693
Brian and Tommy had agreed earlier to check for any callers at 1800z

2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287

0700z – 0730z Tuesday 7th July 2015 NZ 80-m net on 3,693
From John ZL2JPM
Our NZ net on Tuesdays (3693) is reasonable amidst the noise.
Both Doug (ZL1BFS) and I report S9+10 to each other in S8-9 noise – so it works.

0600z – 0630z Tuesday 7th July 2015 EUR net on 14,295.2

All in all, a good Tuesday net

From John G3OKT
A good net but band rather dead – also early for VK’s?
VK4ZD just heard initially and difficult copy; then 2.2 and occasional S3, but not really touching S meter until 0640 when Bill came up to 5.5. Bill gave me 4.4.
OH2BAD was the star of the net, continually getting stronger from 5.9+5 initially to S9+30dB by net close.
Miika gave Bill 5.7, and Phil VK2MCB 5.6
G3LUW peaked 4.3 here
F1CFA was 5.5 here; gave VK4ZD 5.3/4, gave PA3AHC 5.1, OH2BAD 5.3, Jean Pierre exchanged 5.4 b/w with VK4ZD.
HB9CQS came in here at 5.9+10dB b/w; Klaus gave VK4ZD 5.7, VK2MCB 5.6, PA3AHC 5.7, G3LUW 5.9, OH2BAD 5.7-9 and had no copy of Jean Pierre
VK2MCB was steady 5.4 here; gave F1CFA 5.5, G3LUW and G3OKT 5.7, HB9CQS 5.9 and PA3AHC 3.3
PA3AHC was 2.1 here – just touching the S meter and first time heard for some time! Malcolm gave VK4ZD 5.5
OH2BAD said VK4ZD and VK2MCB were individually both 5.6 to 5.7 but QSB such that when one was up the other was down. Miika gave a fine rendering of “Happy Birthday” for Phil and John!
F1CFA gave reports at 0625 : PA3AHC 5.6, VK2MCB 5.4, OH2BAD 5.8, G3LUW 5.3, VK4ZD 5.4, G3OKT 5.4, and HB9CQS 5.1. Jean Pierre was 5.6 with Bill.
G3OKT apologized for absence next Sunday, and also Tuesday when hopes (later in the day) to be entertaining Peter VK3KCD.
The net closed at 0640z

Additional Comments
From Malcolm PA3AHC
UK 80 m net again impossible in the noise .
But miracle of miracles, Klaus/HB9CQS came through at the end of our 20m net for the first time ever at 9 + !
Cheers + 73’s,
Malcolm
PS: Had Peter/VK3KCD here for lunch before he embarked on his Scandinavian cruise.

That’s all for now,
73s from John G3OKT
