From QRZ  :-  SFI 181  A 15 (red)  K 2   Sunspots 159 (dropping from prev. day 203)
A good frequency, low noise but with occasional QRN to S6. Almost nothing heard from Europe, but ZLs unusually strong.
Bill VK4ZD was 5.9+5dB at 0635, rising to S9+10dB at 0725
Alain F4GHB was hardly heard here (S1-2) but got 5.9+5 from Bill and 5.9 from OH1BAD. Miika was only 5.7 here (a shadow of his usual 5.9+30dB!) but exchanged 5.9+10dB b/w with Bill and gave both VK2IWT and ZL2JPM 5.7; gave me 5.3.
LU1FM Jose-Louis, an Argentinian visitor was 5.8 here.
HB9CQS was just heard at 4.3 and got 5.9+10dB from Bill and 5.9 from Miika. Towards the end of the net, Klaus was a “hollow” 5.0 here, not touching the S meter at all. Klaus had no copy of me but heard John ZL2JPM at 5.7.
F1CFA was just a trace here, no copy, but gave VK4ZD 5.9 and got 5.7.
Noel VK2IWT was 5.6 QSB here, and gave ZL1RD 5.5, ZL2JPM 5.6 and F4GHB 5.7
EA7GSU was just a trace here early in the net and not copiable; gave VK2IWT 5.5 and got 5.6. Pertti was peaking 5.9 with VK4ZD but hardly heard me (on his Yagi). By 0725 Pertti was up to 5.7 here.
SQ1BHH a visitor exchanged reports with Bill; about 5.7 here.
ZL1BFS was 5.7 with QSB here at 0735 and gave me 4.5-6; gave Klaus 5.6/9.; Doug gave VK4ZD 5.9, F1CFA 5.6, OH2BAD 5.5 and Pertti 5.8
ZL1RD was barely readable R1-3 and QSB, was 5.7 with OH2BAD.
ZL2JPM said he was copying G3OKT and John was 4.3 here.
The net closed at 7.35

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT who (initially) was net control.
G2FUU, after wading through nettles to mend his Inverted-V, was a steady 5.9+20dB b/w as usual. Tommy was heard by G3JJR with some QSB.
G7OAI/P, John, was 5.9+30dB here – an example of the good conditions and very strong signals (background noise here only S5). John was 5.7 with G2FUU.
G3JJR was 5.9+25dB here, which John said was mutual; also 5.7 with G2FUU.
G0PCF Bruce also was 5.9+20dB here.
At 0840, I had to close and left control with Tommy.
G7OAI will not be available for next week’s net.
G3LUW who was absent at his son’s wedding this week, will be Net Control on October 5th.

From John G3OKT, who was unable to attend the Tuesday net this week.
On Sept 28th, Brian G3LUW received an e-mail from Diana’s (EA/G4MVV) and John’s (the late EA/G4HMG) daughter :-
Dear Brian, My mother Diana has asked me to send you an email. She has been overwhelmed by the support shown to her and our family over the last week or so from the members of ROAR and asks if you would be so kind as to thank them all for her on the net tomorrow morning.
The support has meant a great deal to her through what has been a difficult time.
She will be in touch but is keen I contact you before the net tomorrow.
Many Thanks and Best Wishes, Sue Johnson

That’s all for now,
73’s
John G3OKT
