0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,693
From John G7OAI/P Net control
Net opened by Brian, G3LUW, who was already on frequency, and handed over to me to run it today at 0802z. My call was answered by John, G3JJR & Tommy, G2FUU, both good signals. Malcolm, PA3AHC was also heard and stayed with us for a few minutes, but didn't respond to further calls. John, G3OKT joined us around 0820, as usual a rock crushing signal....
G3LUW - 5x9+10
G3JJR - 5x9+20
G2FUU - 5x9+10
G3OKT - 5x9+60
We enjoyed just short of an hour of Rotary fellowship, and closed at 0856Z with a revised, and apparently now not uncommon, toast to Rotary, "Rotary fellowship & peace the world over'

From John G3OKT
I joined the net at 0813; John G3JJR and G7OAI/P were both 5.9+25dB.
G2FUU Tommy was 5.9+30dB
PA3AHC had been 4.6 with Tommy and 5.6/7 to 4.4 with G3LUW. Malcolm was not heard here – probably left before 0815? Brian G3LUW was 5.9+20dB here, and noted that he had lost his TOMO 6m beam in high winds.
Brian said he would be OK for net control next week and might be able to report on the Memorial Service of John G4HMG which he and Margaret will attend on Saturday in Somerset.
Tommy G2FUU said he would listen at 1700z to see if anyone attended.
John G7OAI/P reminded  members of the Net to comment on the OFCOM proposals for new licensing rules in the light of new services like smart metering.

1700z – 1730z  RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,694

2000z - 2030z  N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287
From Pertti EA7GSU
This Net was slightly more active than a week ago. I heard Joe, AF1E some
minutes before the net time 1954utc with 55 and got the same back.
Propagations were not as good as they usually are. Joe continued to
call members but in vain. We changed some news and at 2005utc Joe
suggested we fold the net as there were no takers.

0700z – 0730z Tuesday 21st October 2014  NZ  80-m net on 3693

After half an hours chatting we folded the net at 0736utc.

From John G3OKT
Strong winds from Hurricane Gonzalo put a twist in my feeder so I couldn’t get on this net. Also will miss next Sunday net on 26th October so good luck to Bill and Dianne for their trip to Japan on the 28th.
RIBI members will also be aware that Summertime ends and UK reverts to “z time” at 2am on Sunday 26 October

That’s all for now, 73’s
