May 2014 0615z-0700z ANZO Net on 7118 From Bill VK4ZD Doug VK3FJAE (visitor from Maryborough) was 58 and gave me 59 Phil VK2MCB was 59+10 and gave me 59 Ray VK4NET/P (visitor) in Clareview called in to discuss their net's recent change to 7.120 which results in a 2 way QRM situation John ZL2JPM/MM called in with a 58 signal and gave me 59+10 Troy VK4LTI (visitor) also called in to discuss their net's recent change to 7.120 which results in a 2 way QRM situation 0700z - 0800z Europe - ANZO Net on 14,295.2 Long Path Apologies from members of RIBI which had its 2014 AGM near Warrington this weekend. Stephen Bloom KL7SB said on FACEBOOK : Was looking for the VK/ZL EU Net tonight ...but no joy (If the band is open ..I can usually hear VK4ZD even with his beam towards EU). We're off to OZ on Tuesday ...Perth 5/23-5/28, Sydney 5/28-6/5, Melbourne 6/5-6/11. He gave me 55 Phil VK2MCB was initially 52 building to 59 and gave me 57-9 John ZL2JPM/MM was 20-41 and gave me 52 Pertti EA7GSU was 57 and gave me 59 Vitor CT1BJZ was 59+5 and gave me 59 I wasn't able to make any other nets due to my time being occupied preparing for the remote control of the station equipment for the Sydney Convention. From Pertti EA7GSU The sky was not crystal clear but all stations fairly audible. Bill VK4ZD opened with 58/9 signal. I heard Doug, ZL1BFS 54 b/w. We got a breaker and when Steve turned his beam towards EU and I turned mine towards Alaska I heard KL7SB 55/7 and got from him 53. Coco was briefly in the air but only 57 with me. I exchanged 53 - 55 with Phil, VK2MCB and with John, ZL2JPM/m 31 - 41. I did hear also Vitor, CT1BJZ surprisingly with 54. The net closed at 0754utc. 0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694 (RIBI had its 2014 AGM near Warrington this weekend) 1200z - 1300z International Net on 14,292 1700z – 1730z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,692 2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287 From Bob WB7RBQ We had a short net today, only three of us. I was net control. Jack, KF5BD Joe, W0TBC and me, WB7RQG. The stations that could hear Pertti were not present. From Pertti EA7GSU My band had a strong background noise up to qrn7/8 which made it impossible to hear. I thought, thou to have heard W0TBC!! 0700z – 0730z Tuesday 20th May 2014 NZ 80-m net on 3693 0700z – 0730z Tuesday 20th May 2014 EUR net on 14,295.2 SFI 117 A4 K1 Sunspots 130 (falling) From John G3OKT Pertti EA7GSU was in QSO with G3LUW when G3OKT called in with John G4HMG and Diana G4MVV in the shack. Pertti was 5.9 rising to 5.9+10dB here. Brian and G3OKT exchanged 5.6 b/w. I got 5.7 from Pertti rising later to 5.9. Brian was 5.9 with Pertti. Malcolm PA3AHC came in at 4.4 with Brian and S9 with Pertti but, although his voice was just detectable, we had no copy of Malcolm here. Pertti is leaving for Sydney next Tuesday.
