Peter VK3KCD was 57 building to 59 and gave me 59
John ZL2JPM was 57 and gave me 56
Peter VK3FPSR was 57 and gave me 59+10
Barry VK3KBY (a Rotarian) from Shepparton called in at the end of the net

From Peter VK3KCD
Pity about the contest spoiling the good propagation!
Good propagation this week with local QRM at first which disappeared only to be replaced by EU contest QRM. Present were Bill VK4ZD, Noel VK2IWT, Peter VK3FPSR, John ZL2JPM, and myself.
We were joined at the end of the net by a Rotarian from Shepparton Barry VK3KBY. We hope Barry will join us for future nets.
Note this net will commence 30 minutes earlier at 0615z next week and also that SE Australia and NZ go off summer time next Sunday April 6

0730z - 0830z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,295.2 Long Path

This NET to RESCHEDULE to 0700z - 0800z

From Bill VK4ZD
Massive Contest QRM made this net a challenge
Jean-Pierre F1CFA was 57-8 and gave me 59
John ZL2JPM was 55
Peter VK3KCD was 59
Klaus HB9CQS was 59+5-10
Doug ZL1BFS and I exchanged 59+10 reports
John G3OKT was 58 and gave 59 in the clear
Pertti EA7GSU was 57 and gave me 4-58
Malcolm PA3AHC was 54 and gave me 55
The net closed early to relieve the pain from the participants.
Congratulations to all those who persevered.

From John G3OKT
Horrendous interference from the worldwide CT WW/WPX Contest. I could just make out Bill VK4ZD at 1.9 between the syllables of E7A who was 5.9+30dB with me! Bill gave me 5.8. I later received Bill at 4.9 on vertical polarization.
F1CFA Jean Pierre was 1.9+10dB with me and gave Bill 5.9 at 0728z.
HB9CQS was my saviour (!) at 5.9+30dB and I heard him give ZL2JPM 5.6/7. I could not hear John here. Klaus could hear a few words now and then from Noel VK2IWT; I could just tell Noel was there. Klaus gave me 5.9+10-15dB
Pertti EA7GSU was a good 5.9 with me on vertical receive; he gave me 5.9 and he gave Noel 3.3 amongst the QRM. Pertti also gave Klaus 5.9, VK4ZD 5.8 and ZL2JPM 3.3.
I thought I recognised Peter’s voice VK3KCD at 0.8 but had no copy.
PA3AHC was 2.9 with me and Malcolm got 4.4 from VK4ZD.
F1CFA was 5.9 with me and gave VK2IWT 5.4, EA7GSU 5.9+. PA3AHC 5.9, VK4ZD 5.9. Bill gave Jean Pierre 5.7
I had to leave the net for the 80m RIBI net at 0800z at 0950z

From Jean Pierre F1CFA
I heard Bill asking for moving the net meeting time to 0700z and some of us said YES. It must be reported with a confirmation of Bill ( done! ).
So sorry for Tuesday morning : I was busy for the town ( I am acting as a councillor). The suggestion of Pertti to move to 7,00z is right. I agree. Please confirm...

From Klaus HB9CQS
Very fine. Many thanks for your indefatigable efforts.
Regarding the ANZO net: You left because you were net controller on the 80 M net and this obvious "schedule collision" caused Bill to suggest that the ANZO net was re-timed to 07:00 - 08:00z. Bill did it in a very democratic way, asking for the consent of as many ROARS as he could reach through the QRM. He got what he asked for. Propagation-wise it should make sense. Tomorrow our Monday-thru-Friday OZ/VK net will start on 07:00z also.
You missed the decision, I believe, because you had QSYed to 80M. Please check it with Bill and Pertti and correct your report accordingly (done!)
I hope that the sun is shining on you.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT
I was Net Control this week. Malcolm reported serious S9 random noise, hearable even on S9+20 signals!
G2FUU Tommy and G3LUW Brian were in QSO when I joined at 0805z. Both were 5.9+ here. Tommy gave Brian 5.9+ and G3JJR 5.9.
G3JJR John was 5.9+20 with me, and gave 5.9+ for Tommy and Brian but had no copy of Malcolm. John was in trepidation of a neighbour reducing a tall tree!
PA3AHC was 5.7/8 with me. Malcolm copied me Q5 above his high noise level. He was copied by Brian at 4.6.
The net closed at 0844z.

1200z - 1300z International Net on 14,292
From Pertti EA7GSU
My report is NIL. I was there calling for ten minutes but heard nothing but contest QRM. I did have fairly clear qrg, but in spite of it, nil.

1800z – 1830z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,692
From Mike G8LES
I had neighbour meetings during the lunch time net so wasn’t on, but heard a lot of CQ contest when I got back about 14:30.
Called at 18:00 on 80metres and Tommy G2FUU and I had a 20 minute chat until I had to go for dinner across the road.
There was fading down to S7 into the noise and up to just over the 9.
No other takers

2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287
From Bob WB7RQG
Too much QRM with contesters so I canceled the net.
We will try again next week.
From Pertti EA7GSU
Sunday evening net was similar mid-day except 14288 was continuously covered with contesters. If the net was on or not, I wouldn't know.

0700z – 0730z Tuesday 1st April 2014 NZ 80-m net on 3693
(SE Australia and NZ go off summer time next Sunday April 6)

0800z – 0830z Tuesday 1st April 2014 EUR net on 7172.5
From QRZ : SFI 152 (rising) A 7 K 1 Sunspots 129 (rising)

From John G3OKT
0800z seemed late today following the UK’s move to summer time. Band full of G and (some) DL stations at S9+20. Difficult to find a spot. Called CQ several times and a very quiet Pertti returned on 7174..
EA7GSU gave me 5.1and could hear very few other stations. Receiving on vertical polarization, I was able to give Pertti 5.8 in S7 noise. However his signal came and went and we closed at 0820z. Pertti remarked that 2 hours earlier, he had heard several UK stations with good signals but now all quiet. Perhaps the net should move to 0700z ?

From Pertti EA7GSU
From my point of view very funny conditions this morning. I heard two/three
EA - stations very strong, you were 51 all the time and when we
finished, I was listening two W - stations chatting about a Chinese
pwr ampl. on 7200kHz!! Otherwise the band was nearly dead. I got the
feeling of being in the bottle!

That’s all for now,
John G3OKT
