0900z - 1000z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694

1200z - 1300z International Net on 14,292
From Pertti EA7GSU
Surprisingly we had "good" participation. Mike, N4PF came after my
first shot with 57 giving me 45. Then we had Malcolm, PA3AHC 56/57 and
Klaus, HB9CQS 57/57. Klaus then had ears open and heard (and worked)
Bill, VK4ZD whom I heard 53 but didn't have the luck. Klaus also heard
Pasi, OH1TG but I had no copy. I closed the net at 1229hrs.

1800z – 1830z UK evening 80-metre Net on 3,692
From Pertti EA7GSU
After scanning for a while and not heard anybody I called on 3692kHz.
John, EA/G4HMG came back and we were both 50++ both ways. After
nothing heard from The Isles, we decided to close the net at 1812

2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287
From Bob WB7RQG
I was net control today and it was a wonderful experience. Those joining the net were; Ed N4EDT ROAR Treasurer, Bill VK4ZD ROAR President, Pertti, EA7GSU ROAR Past President and Joe W0TBC. Everybody could talk to each other except me. Both Bill and Pertti could hear me but I had no copy except for some bits and pieces. I hope conditions will improve.

From Bill VK4ZD
I climbed out of bed at 6am local time and was pleased to get through on the long path
Ed N4EDT was an excellent 57 and gave me 55-8 (at 2005z)
Joe W0TBC was 43 (at 2015z)
Bob WB7RQG was 22 to me
Pertti EA7GSU was 31 to me (at 2030z)

From Pertti EA7GSU
Propagations were very bad and the only station I heard for a while
was Bill, VK4ZD (!!!) who came 51 with me. Faintly I recognized the
voice of Ed, N4EDT but only 31. I tried with CW and understand to be
heard by Bill but not well. He tried later to use the SP but it wasn't
any better for me and he was still 51 with me. I switched off at 2029hrs.
Interesting Sunday and interesting participation by the members!

Great QSO with VK4ZD during today's North America - Trans. Continental net. Bill was heard in Pell City, Alabama at S-3 to S-9 long path. Great signal out of 400 watts thru the quad. There were stations from Oregon to Minnesota to Alabama that heard and were able to communicate with Bill. What a treat for the members of the Trans Con Net!

It was a great pleasure to be able to be on frequency. The Australia Day public holiday allowed me to get on air nice and early (6am for me). Good to hear your great signal Ed

0700z – 0730z Tuesday January 28th NZ 80-m net on 3693

0730z – 0830z Tuesday January 28th EUR net on 7175
From Pertti EA7GSU
The base frequency was clear and I called about 11min from 0800hrs on 7175kHz but had nobody responding. So that wasn't very much!

From Jean Pierre F1CFA
Impossible to make contact this morning !
The frequency 7,075 mHz was occupied by some Spanish stations discussing together about the weather !!
I tried to explain, but I am not able to speak Spanish. For them I was a disturbing English station or a disturbing German station or a French disturbing station, following on ( !!! )
I tried +- 5 KHz
Upen frequency was occupied by some frenchs
Lower frequency by a music station ( ? ).
Somebody was sending a morse message on the frequency ( Pertti perhaps ? ), but override by the Spanish stations.
I leave 10 min later.

That’s all for now,
John G3OKT
