Only Mike, N4PF and Malcolm, PA3AHC were there to answer my call. Both were 57 in my meter and both gave me 59 report. Mike/Malcolm connection worked only one way: Mike receiving 57 but Malcolm had poor copy. We kept going until 34 min after the hour. 1800z – 1830z RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,692 2000z - 2030z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287 From Pertti EA7GSU NA continental net at 2000hrs on 14287kHz operated under weak audibility and I decided to transmit on CW. It was cought up by Joe, W0TBC who said he was still able to copy my QRS speed! Bob, WB7RQG was there as well and both were 41 with me. Joe was growing in strength but Bob's signal was weakening. When I went qrt at 2019hrs, Joe was 53 in my meter. No other stations heard at all. From Bob WB7RQG Net control today was Joe, W0TBC. Those who joined were Jack, KF5BD Pertti,EA7GSU who used cw which I heard and myself. Very small net. 73, Bob, Wb7RQG 0700z – 0730z Tuesday 11th February NZ 80-m net on 3693 0730z – 0830z Tuesday 11th February EUR net on 7177 From Pertti EA7GSU I found Brian, G3LUW and J - P, F1CFA when scanning the band few minutes in advance. Band was funny. Both had good signal (57, 59) but they appeared to be two rooms away. Echo? John, EA/G4HMG joined few minutes later with the usual 59+ and I was reasonably well received by everyone. Malcolm, PA3AHC was copied by Brian and J - P but John and me had no signal. Brian was again in the right geological position to coordinate the net. We chatted until 29 min past the full hour 0829hrs. That’s all for now, 73’s John G3OKT |
