From Phil VK2MCB
The net consisted of myself - Phil VK2MCB, Peter VK3KCD, Bill VK4ZD, Dianne VK4DI, and Bryce VK2FADS.  Noel sent his apologies; he was very busy with pre-Christmas ecumenical duties.
Conditions on 40m were good in the south of the country with little noise but not so good in SE Queensland where Bill reported +20 QRN early in the net.
VK3KCD was 5/5 and gave me a 5/6
VK4DI was 5/7 and gave me 5/7
VK4ZD was 5/7 initially rising to 5/9 at the end of the net and gave me 5/7-9
VK2FADS was 5/3 and gave me a 5/9.  Bryce also copied VK4ZD 5/9+ and VK3KCD 5/9.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all from the Canberra region where the grass remains green and the temperatures moderate.

From John G3OKT
Still running barefoot but now up to 150W p-p. In summary, an interesting net – possibly following a solar flare on Friday. Band quiet at 0720 - noise S1 and only occasional QRN to S7. Seemed to wake up at 0725 and became a “zoo” here with strong QRM from neighbouring stations. However, at 0825 all noise fell away – HB9CQS up to 5.9+25 and VK4ZD up to 5.9+15! PA0SDZ 5.8 with Bill.
At 0728 G3LUW was 5.0 (!) here giving OH2BAD 5.9 and 5.7 for both VK4ZD and ZL2JPM, 5.6 for F1CFA and getting 5.9 with Bill by 0812.

Rob ZL1RD was 5.7/8, disappeared at 0806 but came back to 5.9+10 by 0840.
F1CFA not heard here, got 5.7 from Rob, gave Bill 5.8/9 and got 5.5
OH2BAD 5.7 here initially, up to 5.9+30dB by 0820. Miika gave VK4ZD 5.9+10, ZL2JPM 5.7, ZL1BFS 5.6, VK2MCB 5.7, no copy VK3KCD, good copy all Europe.
ZL1BFS was 5.6 here but severe QRM; Doug was 5.9+ with Bill and gave me 3.3.
G4HCK was 3.0 here, gave Brian 4.1 and got 5.7 from Bill. At 0823 Nick was 5.7 here and gave Bill 5.9
HB9CQS was under the QRM at 0753 but 5.9 with VK4ZD. By 0826, Klaus was 5.9+25 here, gave G3OKT and G3LUW 5.9+10, G4HCK 5.3/4 (earlier), VK3KCD 5.3, PA0SDZ 5.5, PA3AHC 4.3 and F4GHB 5.5.
At 0755 Peter VK3KCD was 5.5/7 with VK4ZD but not heard here. VK2MCB Phil was only just recognizable under Italian QRM, though 5.8 with Miika. By 0836 Phil came up from 5.5 to 5.9 here and gave me 5.6.
ZL2JPM just heard here but 5.9 with VK4ZD.
PA0SDZ difficult here but gave Bill 5.9
EA7GSU only Q3 on his vertical ant. under QRM, said all European stns were 5.9 (F4GHB +10dB). Pertti gave  ZL1RD 5.9+10dB, ZL2JPM 5.1, VK3KCD 5.1, VK2MCN 5.6, ZL1BFS 5.6, VK4DI 5.9 (better than Bill who was 5.8!). Pertti came up to 5.9+10dB here by 0835.
Diane VK4DI was heard here but jammed by an S9 carrier!
PA3AHC was 3.3 here under Italian QRM, but 5.6QSB by 0838. Malcolm gave 5.4 to ZL2JPM, 5.6/7 to VK4ZD and got 5.5
G3OKT was 5.7 with VK4ZD by 0817. Brian and Doug exchanged 5.7/8 b/w.
At 0821 F4GHB gave G3LUW 5.5 but was lost here under S9+20 CW QRM!

0900z - 1000z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT who was net control. Not a good net – high noise (S9) and strong QSB.
G3LUW, G2FUU, G0PCF and G3JJR were all 5.9+20dB here. G7OAI was 5.9+25.
PA3AHC Malcolm  was 3.6 with Brian but not heard by G3JJR and hardly heard here (1.7/8?)
G7OAI had difficulty with Buce and gave Tommy 5.6.
We congratulated Tommy for his 94th birthday last week!
Elizabeth rang after the net to wish all a Happy Christmas and New Year.

1800z – 1830z  RIBI evening 80-metre Net on 3,694
Tommy G2FUU and probably G3LUW had said they would check this frequency for any callers.

2000z - 2030z  N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287

0700z – 0730z Tuesday 23rd December 2014  NZ  40-m net on 7117

0730z – 0800z Tuesday 23rd December 2014  EUR net on 14,2952
From Bill VK4ZD
Brian G3LUW was 57-8 and gave me 57-9
Miika OH2BAD was 57 building to 59+5 and gave me 57
Pertti EA7GSU was 53-6 - and gave me 53-8
Malcolm PA3AHC was eventually 54-5 and gave me 54

From Brian G3LUW
Bill VK4ZD called CQ at 0730 at 5&7. Miika OH2BAD answered and was a very hollow 5&7 here. After a poor signal initially Pertti EA7GSU
became a very solid 5&9. I could just copy Malcolm PA3AHC. The net closed on the hour, and all signals except Malcolm were very strong. We exchanged seasons greetings after a very enjoyable net.
