Random noise only S1, Kazighstan S9 on 14.293, and a buzzing noise at S7-9 QSB received on horizontal polarization but which was absent on vertical! This noise disappeared totally towards 0700.
At 0555, YO9BC was in QSO with PA3AHC; Coco was 5.5/8 QSB here and gave Malcolm 5.5 to 5.6, and me 5.6. Malcolm was just detectable here at 1.2 and recognizable as voice at 5.2 by VK4ZD.
VK3KCD got 5.7/8 from Coco who was 5.6 with Peter. Peter heard me at 5.5 and was 4.5 rising to 5.6 here.
VK4ZD came in with fast QSB at 5.8, touching S9. Coco heard Bill at 5.7/8. Bill gave me 5.3 rising later to 5.5
VK2MCB was only a trace of a voice here; Phil got 4.1 from Bill.
ZL1BFS was also no copy here; Doug was 5.7 with Bill.
ZL2JPM was recognizable here at 1.3 in QSB and noise.
G3LUW gave Bill 5.7/8, Phil 4.4, had no copy of ZLs and exchanged 5.6 with Peter. Brian later said I was about 3.4. He was 4.7 here and got 5.4 from VK4ZD.
F1CFA gave VK3KCD 5.5 and received 4.4 from Peter. There was no trace of Jean Pierre here.
EA/G4HMG was initially hardly detectable here under the noise, only1.1 at best. John got 5.6 from G3LUW and 5.3 from VK4ZD, and gave Bill 5.7. John was only hearing G3OKT at 2.2 and VK3KCD at 3.3. Later (at 0640) John shot up to 5.9+10dB here, giving both PA3AHC and VK4ZD 5.9.
F4GHB and VK3KCD exchanged 5.7 b/w, but I could only just recognize Alain’s voice here – no copy. Alain was 5.6 with VK4ZD and gave Bill 5.8
YO9GBR George appeared briefly at 0636 peaking 5.8 QSB here, and gave Alain 5.9, gave VK3KCD 5.6 and gave VK2MCB 5.5. Bill gave George 5.5
G4HCK got 5.4 from VK4ZD but Nick was only just hearable here at 3.6.
Peter VK3KCD had no copy of EA/G4HMG, ZL1BFS or ZL2JPM but Peter got 5.7/9 from VK4ZD. Peter exchanged 3.3 b/w with PA3AHC, and gave YO9BC 5.7/8, G3OKT 5.5/6, VK4ZD 5.9, G3LUW 5.6 and F1CFA 4.4.

I tuned in on 14295 kHz at 0650 to hear Coco YO9BC calling "CQ Rotary" We were loud and clear both ways. Jean-Pierre F1CFA called on the hour, Bill VK4ZD at 0703 and Malcolm PA3AHC at 0705. F1CFA was 5&3 here improving to 5&8 later. I exchanged 5&4 with Bill but Malcolm was almost inaudible. Bill gave Coco 5&9 and Jean-Pierre 5&6 but was copying Malcolm with difficulty. There were no other callers and we closed the net at 0725 in difficult conditions
That’s all for now,
