Roar Nets January 6 2013

Propagation improving.  K=0,  A=3,  Flux=145.

0730z - 0800z  Anzo Net on 7,118
Many Thanks to Philip,  Immediate Past President of R.C.Canberra for the following report :-
Good Day Bill and Happy New Year to all.
Average conditions for the ANZO Net on 7118 on 6 January from 0715z with QSB interfering with readability early on. Conditions improved such that by 0800Z all were readability 4 or better.
Present were President Bill VK4ZD, Doug ZL1BFS, Reg VK7KK, a visitor George VK4GSF, and myself. Regretfully, Peter VK3KCD was absent due to family illness and Noel VK2IWT is having internal tuner problems with his ICOM transceiver which needs professional attention. We were assured Noel was monitoring our efforts as a temporary shortwave listener.

0900z - 1000z  UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
Many Thanks to Roar-UK President Brian G3LUW for the following report :-
Hi Bill, We had seven on the morning 80m net. Mike G4WRU, John G7OAI, Tommy G2FUU, John G3JJR, Bruce G0PCF, Don G0JWE and me. Initially we were troubled with European QRM, but that faded as the sun came up.
John EA/G4HMG was very strong on the 80m evening net. We were joined by Tommy and Mike. Frank called in from Denmark with a strong signal. He is a Rotarian who has an office in England. He is a member of the Bristol Bridge Rotary club, and promised to join us again from time to time. He had discovered the ROAR details on the internet, and sounded very interested. His callsign is 5P2BA. Perhaps you would care to include him on your weekly
e-mail. He is at frank_garbelmann@hotmail.com (that’s frank underscore ) 73 Brian G3LUW  (Done g4yze)
And on Behalf of Jim G4MVO a happy note from his XYL Peggy :-
Hello Bill, Happy New Year to you and Josie. Our third great grandchild Toby arrived on Boxing day.
so we had lots to celebrate this Christmas.   Peggy.

1200z - 1300z  International Net on 14,293
Many Thanks to Klaus for the following comprehensive report :-
Greetings Bill
If it is still allowed at this late date I gladly take the opportunity to wish you both a happy and especially a healthy new year.
In December I had my prostate "bored" to get a better flow. A bit troublesome since in early January I had to go up to Denmark to bury my sister. Various arrangements and the paper work involved made me forget to send you a report. Good that you gave me a warning shot.

2000z - 2030z  N.AM. Transcontinental Net on 14,288
Many Thanks to Treasurer Bob for the following note :-
Hi Bill, No report this week, too much QRM
73, Bob WB7RQG

Messages Received.
An interesting note from Tom Burns about last Sunday's nets
I heard the 1200 and 2000 20 meter nets driving from Maryland to Illinois Sunday
but with icing on my vehicle antenna I could not generate enough signal to be heard. I always enjoy the 80 meter nets when in England. Tom Burns, KN9H.
