0515z-0600z ANZO Net on 7118
From Bill VK4ZD
Peter VK3KCD had advised previously that he would not be available this week.
Doug ZL1BFS called in with an excellent signal 57 later peaking to 59+5 and gave me 59
John ZL2JPM then called in with a smaller signal to me, peaking 54. He gave me 42 to 43.
Phil VK2MCB called in at 0537z with a 59 signal and gave me 59+10
Bryce VK2FADS (a Rotarian visitor) called in with a fine 58 signal.

0600z - 0700z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,292 Long Path
From Bill VK4ZD
We dropped to 14.292 this week and were challenged for the frequency by Russians who had been QRMing us on previous weeks when we were on 14.293
Doug ZL1BFS was 59+ and gave me 59+ also. He was being heard very well in Europe with many reports provided, even after he had left the frequency. Doug was running 1kw into an 80m dipole at his new QTH. It promises to be an excellent location.
Miika OH2BAD was there again with an excellent signal - 59+10 - he gave me 59
Alain F4GHB was 57-9 and gave me 59+
John ZL2JPM was 53-5 and gave me 55
Brian G3LUW was 55 and gave me 56.
John EA/G4HMG was 42 in the clear
Jean-Pierre F1CFA was 53 and gave me 55
Klaus HB9CQS was 59+5 and gave me 59
Malcolm PA3AHC was 53 dropping to 31 in QSB and gave me 55 I believe
Coco YO9BC and I exchanged 59 reports
Henk VK2GWK and I exchanged 57 reports and contacted almost everyone on frequency.
Pertti EA7GSU eventually got propagation and was 57-8 to me and gave me 59
John G3OKT was 42 at first peaking at 54 and gave me 57-9
Vitor CT1BJZ was 55 and gave me 58. He expected to have a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the CR6RI QSL cards
The net was closed at 0715z
Rob ZL1RD called in after the net with a fine 59+ signal
I advised that I would not be on the net next weekend and he indicated that he would try to be there.

From John G3OKT
The net was much improved this week by moving 1kHz down from the Tazigstan harmonic, but became the scene for the Europeans at least, of a contest with 2 strong Russian stations for the QRG! At first, the channel was very quiet but VK signals were weak and fluttery in the UK, becoming stronger towards 0700z. I called CQ RI at 0558z with no response. Soon I heard Brian G3LUW at 3.3 talking to John EA/G4HMG who was 5.5/6 with me.
Miika OH2BAD was there and gave John 5.9, Brian 5.9 and 5.7 to Bill VK4ZD.
Bill VK4ZD was 5.5 with QSB and rapid flutter and soon came up to 5.7
Jean Pierre F1CFA was only 3.5 when there was no QRM, coming up to 5.7, and was 5.3 with Bill
Miika OH2BAD was 5.9+20dB here, and gave Bill VK4ZD 5.9, Doug ZL1BFS 5.9, and John ZL2JPM 5.3. I could hear nothing of ZL2JPM nor ZL1BFS, who according to Bill was running 1kW to an 80m dipole from his new QTH.
Alain F4GHB got 5.7/8 with QSB from VK4ZD; I could only just detect Alain’s voice at this stage.
Klaus HB9CQS came in at 5.9+15dB here, giving 5.9+10dB to Henk VK2GWK, 5.9 to VK4ZD, 5.9+10dB to OH2BAD, 5.9+10dB to G3OKT, 5.6 to ZL2JPM, 5.9 to both Vince YO9BC and Brian G3LUW, and later gave Doug ZL1BFS 5.7/8.
Coco YO9BC was 5.9 with me and gave VK4ZD 5.9, EA/G4HMG 5.9, G3LUW 5.7, F1CFA 5.8, F4GHB 5.9, and HB9CQS 5.9.
Henk VK2GWK was now peaking 5.9 with me, gave Bill VK4ZD 5.7, Doug ZL1BFS 5.8 and Alain F4GHB 5.6. Alain returned 5.7 for Henk.
Malcolm PA3AHC got 5.5 from Henk but was not hearable initially, coming up to 3.2 and by 0705 was 5.9 with me. Malcolm heard Bill at 5.7 and got 5.3.
Pertti EA7GSU by now was 5.9 with me; got 3.1 growing to 5.3 with VK4ZD. Pertti gave 5.9 to Bill and Henk, and got 5.7 from Henk. Pertti was fluttering 5.9 with me. Pertti later gave Alain F4GHB 5.7 and Doug ZL1BFS 5.7.
John G3OKT was 5.7 with VK2GWK who by now was 5.9+10dB here.
Vitor CT1BJZ came in at 5.7. Gave VK4ZD 5.8, G3OKT 5.4, VK2GWK 5.8, OH2BAD 5.9, exchanged 5.9 with HB9CQS, gave ZL1BFS 4.4, gave Pertti 5.9, and got 5.5 from VK4ZD.
Alain F4GHB came up to 5.9+15dB with me by 0657z, was 5.7 peaking 5.9 with VK4ZD, gave OH2BAD 5.9, G3LUW 5.2, HB9CQS 5.8, EA/G4HMG 5.7, YO9BC 5.9+10dB and EA7GSU 5.6.
Rob ZL1RD, who was the only ZL I could hear (just), was 5.9+10dB with VK4ZD.
John EA/G4HMG confirmed that he and Margaret would attend the 2014 RIBI AGM. He was copying Henk at 5.6 and (I think) got 4.4 before disappearing into the QRM.
Brian G3LUW and Henk VK2GWK exchanged 5.9 reports.
Miika OH2BAD gave Henk 5.9+ and received 5.8/9.
The skip changed around 0700z and both Malcolm and Alain suddenly appeared at 5.9+. Bill VK4ZD was also steady 5.8 here in UK.
Klaus was building to 5.9 from Bill at 0704z. and was 5.9 with Pertti.
Bill VK4ZD said that he wouldn’t be on the net next week, but will be in VK5 celebrating his mother’s birthday. Noting propagation had seemed evenly balanced around 0700z, Bill suggested we consider moving the net later in 2 or 3 weeks time.

From Pertti EA7GSU
What a contrast to the net a week earlier! The first 12 minutes the frequency was absolutely dead, like in an iron mine without a single noise! The first sign of life was Brian at 12 min past. I soon realized that everybody else heard ANZO stations except me. During the following 20 min the stations got their usual strength and we were back to business.
Good net, I counted 15 members and 2 visitors participating!

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
Brian G3LUW, net control, was 5.9+20dB with me, gave 5.8 for Bruce G0PCS
Mike G4WRU was 5.9+10dB
Tommy G2FUU and I exchanged 5.9+20dB reports, but Tommy was only 5.6 with Mike who was suffering a cold shack! Mike was getting G3OKT at 5.9+20db
Don G0JWE couldn’t hear G3LUW very well, but we discussed the 2014AGM hotel.
John G3JJR was 5.9+20dB with me
Bruce G0PCF was 5.9+15 with me but couldn’t hear Don. Bruce was suffering a shin injury, and all hoped he would recover soon.
G3OKT had to go QRT at 0920.
Brian G3LUW will arrange net control next week in G3OKT’s absence.

1200z - 1300z International Net on 14,293
From Pertti EA7GSU
At 1200 utc, as usual Mike N4PF was there with 56/7 signal. I briefly heard something of Mike G8LES, but he had a bad copy of me and disappeared. Klaus, HB9CQS came briefly to tell that he was suffering of bad QRM and went QRT. I heard a couple of times the voice of Bert, VE3BGG with 44 but he wasn't able to copy me. Mike, N4PF had no luck either and after many CQ calls I suggested to close the net and Mike agreed. It happened at 1216 hrs.

1700z - 1730z UK evening 80-metre Net on 3,694

1900z - 1930z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287
From Bob WB7RQG
Only had 6 checkins; Ed, N4EDT Myself Pertti, EA7GSU Guests were Dennis, KF7KYU Dennis, N7DKO.
Joe, W0TBC was net control and did great job. Background noise was minimal with not much QRM.

From Pertti EA7GSU
N4EDT, Ed was in charge and I checked in with 56/55 signals. Joe, W0TBC's voice was audible with 31 signal but no QSO made yet and I promised to stay on QRG to wait for the improvement of the prop's.
At 1945hrs there was no bettering of the signals but QRM 2kc's down by a Greek net and shortly after I lost the sniff of the stations.
