SFI 103 (106) A index 10 (49) K=3 (3) From QRZ : figures in brackets from last week. Absorption less but still high !

0515z - 0600z ANZO Net on 7118
From Peter VK3KCD
Again a quiet net on 40 with Phil VK2MCB and myself. We learned on the 20m net that Wally VK6YS did hear us faintly so hopefully in better conditions he may be able to participate in this net also.

0600z - 0700z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path
From Bill VK4ZD
Poor Conditions this week.
John, ZL2JPM was 57-8 but had little copy on Europe
Peter, VK3KCD and I exchanged 59 reports
Les, PA0SDZ was only 21 with me today but Peter copied him and Wally VK6YS had an excellent contact
Phil, VK2MCB was 58-9
Klaus HB9CQS was 57 and gave me 58
Coco, YO9BC was 58-9 and gave me 57
John, EA/G4HMG was a surprising 42 and gave me 55
Pertti, EA7GSU and I exchanged 57 reports
John, G3OKT was barely discernible here this week
Wally, VK6YS joined us for the first time. He was 59 to me had and many contacts with all on the net, especially into Europe.
Alain, F4GHB was only 31 to me this week but was copied well by Wally

From Peter VK3KCD
On 20m I confirm Bill VK4ZD’s comments but did have R3 copy on G3OKT as well as working Les PA0SDZ and Klaus HB9CQS. Wally VK6YS had a fine signal in Flinders.

From John G3OKT
Very noisy with QSB (my S meter was rarely below S9+10dB), with QRM from a Russian station up to S9+15, Broadcast harmonic QSB to S9, and random noise to S7/8.
I heard Peter VK3KCD’s voice from 0600 but hard to copy. I guess he was 1.5
Klaus HB9CQS was 5.5 – I think he gave Peter 4.5; later Klaus came up to 5.9+20dB with QSB !
Les PA0SDZ was referred to by Peter but not heard here at all
John ZL2JPM was nil copy
John EA/G4HMG gave me 5.9 – he peaked 5.9+15 in QSB with me.
Coco YO9BC was 5.9+10dB with me, but said propagation from VK not good.
Bill VK4ZD could be heard (just) throughout from 0605 at 2.4 under the noise.
Pertti EA7GSU was 5.9+15 with me and he gave 3.1 for Peter VK3KCD
Phil VK2MCB exchanged 4.5 with HB9CQS, and just heard G3OKT at 1.5?
Wally VK6YS in Perth appeared getting 5.7/8 from HB9CQS. He fluttered up to 5.9 with G3OKT when clear of interference.
EA7GSU gave VK6YS 5.3 and received 5.5/6. Wally gave G3OKT 5.5 and had good copy of Les PA0SDZ.
EA/G4HMG could hear Wally and received a report of 4.4.
Klaus said he received Wally at up to 5.9+20dB
As the net ended at 0708, Alain F4GHB called in from Burgundy, giving 4.4 to HB9CQS in exchange for 5.6; Alain was 5.9+30dB with G3OKT! He gave me 5.8. We closed at 0716.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,694
From John G3OKT (Net control)
Good net this week!
John G7OAI/P was up first at 5.9+25, getting me at 5.9+30dB off beam and confirming current rig works OK audio-wise (very welcome)
Mike G4WRU had been admitted to hospital again last week but now feeling not too bad. Mike was 5.9+20dB with me; gave G7OAI/P 5.6/7 later fading away in QSB.
Tommy G2FUU was also 5.9+20dB with me, got 5.8 from G8LES; Tommy gave 5.9+10dB for G3OKT and G4WRU, and 4.6 for G7OAI/P
John G3JJR was 5.9+35dB with me; got 5.7 from G4WRU. John said all signals were readable – unusual for 80m.
Mike G8LES was 5.9+30dB with me.
We all thanked John G7OAI/P for his preliminary research into a Chester venue for the ROAR in RIBI 2014 AGM; G3OKT will poll UK membership for the preferred date in May.
Net closed at 0852

1200z - 1300z International Net on 14,293
From Bill VK4ZD
Although I was there as promised I made no contacts but heard Coco, YP9BC 55 and Mike, N4PF 52

From Pertti EA7GSU
There is life before the sked time!!
I had my RX open half an hour early and the catch I heard was:
Mike, G8LES with 55 but he closed because of visitors,
I also heard being there EA/G4HMG with nil, as well as CT1BJZ with also nil,
and then came old friend Rag (Ragnar), LA5HE with 59 both ways, nice to hear again. You actually made my day!
At the time of sked, 1200utc I was calling as usual and had Coco, YO9BC with 59+ and got 57/8 but he didn't come back later,
Out from noise came Ed, N4EDT with 55 and gave me 52;
then was N4PF 56 towards the end but both had problems in copying me.
Very choppy, jumpy and QRM infested propagations.
I was calling in several occasions also for VK4ZD scanning with the beam between 230 - 330º but no indication of any signal.
A visitor, SQ9OZM came with 5W and 55/57 signal when beaming towards 45º!
Fellows! Make my day and come on at the time of sked (1200utc) so I do not have to shout to empty band!!!
I agreed with Mike, N4PF (the only remaining!) to close the net at 1230utc. Thanks Mike to be reliable partner. Yes, I agree the prop's aren't always good for everyone! But when are they? We do not know if do not try!
That’s all for time being

1900z - 1930z N.AM Transcontinental Net on 14,287
From Bill VK4ZD
Once again I was there as promised but missed out on propagation into Europe by 10 minutes (I made separate 59 contacts into PA and HB between 1940z and 2000z) and had zero propagation to NA.

From Bob WB7RQG
Eight checkins with Joe, W0TBC as net control.
Conditions not very good. Only one guest with the members making up the rest.
Ed, N4EDT left early with thunderstorms forming in the area
Jack, KF5BD Walt, NC3O guest Reuben,W2LGF
Joe, AF1E Pertti, EA7GSU and me, WB7RQG.

0700z – 0730z Tuesday June 11th NZ 80-m net on 3693

From John G3OKT
(QRZ propagation figures were SFI 93, A 13 and K 1)
Pertti EA7GSU and Brian G3LUW were already in QSO at 0700z.
Pertti had a solar-powered DC to AC supply-converter problem in house and was waiting to get it fixed.
EA7GSU was 5.9+10dB with me and gave me 5.9 with QSB down to 5.5
G3LUW was 5.8 with me with QSB down below the noise level at S7. Brian gave G3OKT 5.3 and EA7GSU 5.5 with QSB upwards.
All three stations may be on frequency again next week before Lisbon.
We closed the net at 0725z.
