Roar Nets June 16th and June 18th 2013
SFI 111 (103) A index 5 (10) K=1 (3) From QRZ : figures in brackets from last week.

0515z - 0600z ANZO Net on 7118
From Peter VK3KCD
Just Phil VK2MCB and myself on 40mx this week. Generally good propagation with some heavy QSB.

0600z - 0700z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path
From Peter VK3KCD
20mx was disappointing I had a scratchy contact with Pertti EA7GSU and very good signals from Klaus HB9CQS and Peter HB9MQM.
At the ANZO end John ZL2JPM, Phil VK2MCB and Henk VK2GWK were on frequency. I heard Bill OH/VK4ZD, John G3OKT and Brian G3LUW but only Q2 to 3 and not workable strength. I believe I heard CT1REP and Vitor CT1BJZ but again very poor propagation. Let’s hope for better conditions next week!

From Bill OH/VK4ZD
Many thanks to Miika OH2BAD for the use of his excellent station.
S7-9 QRM from the harmonic of a jammer made it impossible to hear signals from VK/ZL.
Pertti EA7GSU was heard first and we exchanged 59 reports
Klaus HB9CQS was 59
John, EA/G4HMG and Dianna G4MVV were 59+20
Brian, G3LUW was 59
John, G3OKT was 59+20 and gave me 59+30-40
Peter, HB9MQM was 59+10
Vitor, CT1BJZ was 59+20 with me and was remote controlling the REP station
Henk, VK2GWK was just audible to me with occasional words being heard
Malcolm, PA3AHC was 59 and gave me 59+10
Alain, F4GHB was an excellent 59+10 and gave me 59
Next Sunday in Lisbon !

From John G3OKT
VK3KCD Peter and ZL2JPM John were heard first at 0557z. John was not heard here but received 2.2 from Pertti EA7GSU. Peter gave John 4.3; he was just recognizable here but under severe Russian QRM.
G3LUW Brian was 3.9 with me; he could hear PA3AHC; gave EA/G4HMG and EA7GSU 5.9 but couldn’t copy HB9CQS at this stage or VK3KCD.
EA7GSU peaked 5.9+20dB with QSB down to 4.9 under QRM
EA/G4HMG John was 5.9+20dB with me; gave G3LUW 5.5
EA/G4MVV Diana was on the same rig and said she was sorry to miss Lisbon
VK2MCB Phil got 5.3 from Pertti; not heard here.
HB9CQS Klaus QSB (or antenna steering?) peaked 5.9+20dB here. Gave 5.7 to VK3KCD, 5.5 to VK2MCB and 5.9+10dB to EA7GSU
OH/VK4ZD Bill appeared peaking 5.9+30dB at the QTH of Miika OH2BAD. Diane OH/VK4KYL was also heard on Miika’s rig, by now fully quieting 5.9+40dB with me! Bill then reported Pertti was 5.9, and EA/G4HMG was 20 over 9.
HB9MQM Peter was 5.9+30dB with me from his Club Station; he received 5.9+10dB from Bill. Peter gave me 5.9+20, G3LUW 5.5, HB9CQS 5.8 and VK3KCD 5.8.
CT1BJZ Vitor appeared using the remote station CT1REP over the internet – being a test of the station at Rem which is to be used as CR6RI some 20km in the hills near Lisbon. He was 5.9+20dB with me and with OH/VK4ZD; Vitor returned the report 5.9+20 for Bill
EA7GSU gave 3.1 for Vitor, 5.8 for HB9MQM
HB9CQS Klaus was now 5.9+30 with me (turned his antenna?) , gave 5.8 to HB9MQM, and received 5.9 from CY1BJZ. Klaus said he had earlier heard VK3KCD at 5.8 but Peter was now very weak. Peter VK3KCD gave HB9MQM 5.9 and said Peter was the only station by now that he could hear from Europe.
VK2MCB Phil said he could hear HB9MQM at 5.7
VK2GWK Henk appeared at first under Russian stn QRM but was peaking 5.9+10dB with me. Henk gave Klaus and Bill 5.9, and received 5.9+ from Klaus and 4.8/7 from CT1BJZ/CT1REP. Henk exchanged 5.5 reports with EA/G4HMG
PA3AHC Malcolm was now just heard by Bill OH/VK4ZD under Russian QRM but was 5.9+10 on a new wired dipole and gave Bill 5.9+10
JM2HBO Teru san was heard by VK2GWK but not heard by anyone else.
F4GHB Alain got 5.9+10dB from OH/VK4ZD and gave a 5.9 report in return. Alain was 5.9+30dB with G3OKT.
The net was closed at 0710z.

0800z - 0900z UK 80-metre Net on 3,693
From John G3OKT (Net control) – a good net with little QRM and strong signals but heavy QSB.
G7OAI John gave me 20 over 9 – same as his report from me, but heavy QRM as he was at his (lower) home QTH.
G3LUW Brian was 5.9+20 dB and gave G0PCF 5.7, G3JJR 5.9, G3SCD 5.7, G0JWE 5.9, G2FUU 5.7; and was only 4.4 with G7OAI.
G2FUU Tommy also 5.9+20 from Nazeing in Essex. Tommy introduced a visitor David G3SCD but couldn’t read him in the noise.
G3SCD a VK from Victoria was 20 miles East of Lincoln. He gave me 5.7 and was 5.9+15dB with QSB down to zero! David gave G0PCF 4.2, G4WRU 4.4, G0JWE “way down sometimes” and G2FUU 5.7/8. David gave his 73s and said he would telephone G2FUU.
G3JJR John was 5.9+30dB with me but couldn’t hear David at all well. G0JWE was “crashing in”, in fact all were S9 except for Tommy.
G0JWE Don was also 5.9+20 with me but was having trouble with QSB. He got 5.5 from David. Don was very helpful in pointing up a Rotary warning of a Portugal General Strike on Thurs June 22.
G0PCF Bruce was also 5.9+20 with me but had no copy of David and strong QSB on everyone else
G4WRU Mike was 5.9+20 with me., but had horrendous QRM at S9+20, no copy of G7OAI or David
The net was closed at 0850z

1200z - 1300z International Net on 14,293
From Pertti EA7GSU
I heard Malcolm, PA3AHC testing antennas few minutes before the scheduled time, but before I got my beam to his direction he was gone. Mike, N4PF came back with 57/8 but was deteriorating towards the end and lost me and I him in the middle.
Klaus, HB9CQS had no copy of either of the stations, but was 57/8 with me and gave 48qrm.
Malcolm was back with 55 both ways and shortly before the end at 1240utc Ed, N4EDT came 54/5 signal but did not copy me well.
We had one visitor, Keith, G1XIS/p and I exchanged 45 - 57 reports with him.
I suppose next Sunday we will come from Lisbon with CR6RI.
From Klaus HB9CQS
Ed, N4EDT, was 56 here and he gave me the report "readable".
Look forward to see you both in Lisbon.

0700z – 0740z Tuesday June 11th EUR Net on 14,150
From John G3OKT (today from QRZ : SFI 124 A4 K1)
Good frequency and time of day! Strong QSB.
EA7GSU Pertti and EA/G4HMG John were on first. Pertti was a solid 5.9+10 with me; he gave EA/G4HMG 5.7/8, G3OKT 5.8/9 and 5.7 for F1CFA
EA/G4HMG gave Pertti 5.9, G3OKT 5.9, John was 5.9+10 with me
F1CFA was 5.9 with me. Got 5.7 from Pertti. Jean Pierre gave Pertti 5.9, G4HMG 5.6 and G3OKT 5.8
PA3AHC Malcolm was too weak for me but gave Pertti 5.7 and got 4.6. EA/G4HMG could hear Malcolm but not very strong – 3.5?
Malcolm turned on his HPA and came up to 5.9 with EA/G4HMG, now hearable by G3OKT at 2.7 (under S7 QRM!), and was 5,7 with Pertti. Jean Pierre gave PA3AHC 5.5
Pertti helpfully gave Metro directions to Malcolm and John OKT for Lisbon – thanks very much!

That’s all for now, 73’s to all
