Storm Activity did limit my ability to hear perfectly
Next week should be better as I have completed the repair to the feedline of the big 40m VK2ABQ beam.
Noel VK2IWT was 59+20 and I got 59+ from him
Peter VK3KCD was 35 and he gave me 57
Phil VK2MCB was 57-9 and he gave me 59
Bryce VK2FADS was 59 and gave me 59+. He will be moving to Taree soon
Doug ZL1BFS was 57 and gave me 55

From Peter VK3KCD
Reasonable propagation on 40mx this week with Bill VK4ZD, Noel VK2IWT, Phil VK2MCB, Bryce VK3FADS, Doug ZL1BFS and myself. I shall be absent from the nets for the next 2 weeks so may I take this opportunity to wish all ROAR members and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Brian G3LUW was initially 53 building to 57 and gave me 46
Teru JM2HBO and I exchanged 59+ reports and gave excellent reports and was heard very well in Europe. He had to QSY to the kitchen for the evening meal before he heard his reports from Europe.
Coco YO9BC was 59+5 and gave me 58-9
John ZL2JPM was 59 and gave me 58-9
Vitor CT1BJZ was 54 and gave me 57

John G3OKT wasn’t in the net this week – he hopes to be there next week.

From Peter VK3KCD
20mx not so good here as propagation seemed much better to the north. I think the grey line arrives much later this far south but with the solstice approaching things should improve. Also noted was a fairly high absorption index. I exchanged reports with Bill VK4ZD, Doug ZL1BFS, Pertti EA7GSU, Klaus HB9CQS, Coco YO9BC and Brian G3LUW. However no one was really strong.

From Jean Pierre F1CFA
It was for me the worst net meeting experienced !
Bill VK4ZD was 53 at peak and the other members 41 or 51 difficult.
So, I decided to switch off !
I decided to recheck all my E/R set, what I am doing now.
But I discovered that the solar activity was down at this moment. A such no-activity was the same 100 years ago, they said. Perhaps the winter will be very cold...
Perhaps, with Christmas time it will be better for the net meeting !!!

0900z - 1000z UK 80-metre Net on 3,693

From Bob WB7RQG
We had a good net today with Joe, AF1E as net control who copied Pertti, EA7GSU. Others checking in were; Ed, N4EDT Jack, VE2CAJ from Montreal, Canada Dave, KD2OY Frank, KC0YSG Jordan,KJ0RDN from LA and me WB7RQG.
Pertti said on Dec 17th that this net was not so good – that Joe AF1E was rather weak.

0700z – 0730z Tuesday December 17th NZ 80-m net on 3693

0730z – 0830z Tuesday December 17th EUR net on 7175

From John G3OKT
I exchanged 5.7 both ways with John EA/G4HMG at 0730, but could hardly hear Brian G3LUW who was 5.9 with John. Brian gave Pertti 5.5 and got 5.7/8. Pertti gave John EA/G4HMG 5.7.
Pertti EA7GSU was only 3.3 with me, but was 5.9 with John.
Don G0JWE got 5.7 from Pertti but was only 4.7 with me in high noise. Don gave Pertti 5.9.
Jean Pierre F1CFA was also 5.9 with John and gave Brian 5.9 and was 5.7 with Pertti.
I then changed from a horizontal to a vertical antenna which had lower noise level, and found Pertti was 5.9. Pertti gave me 5.8/9 on this antenna.
Jean Pierre was now 5.9+10dB, but then Don was barely hearable
EA/G4HMG was 5.9 at one point, and was the same signal on both his G5RV and his vertical, but John dropped away to 5.5 at 0810 - I believe because of a HPA failure?
At 0802 G3LUW gave Pertti 5.9, Jean Pierre 5.7 and John 5.9. Pertti gave Brian 5.9.
Both Pertti and John hope to be on this net on Christmas Eve.
All exchanged Christmas Greetings. Pertti closed the net at 0812.

That’s all for now,
73’s to all
John G3OKT
