Many Thanks to Jack KF5BD for the following report :-
Greetings Bill:
The North American ROAR Net was a big sucess today at 1900 UTC on freq. 14,287 May 6. Lots of QRM and QRN but manageable from where this reporter is located. We had nine check-ins who were Ted KL7USN Yuma Arizona, Joe W0TBC Stillwater MN., Ed N4EDT Pell City Alabama, Joe Spears AF1E net control North Carolina, Bob WB7RQG our treasurer Medford Oregon, Mike N$PF Kentucky, Reuben W2LGF California, our chairman EA7GSU Pertti who lives in Spain and Jack KF5BD Albuquerque, New Mexico your reporter. This net covered a distance of [approximately] 6000 miles . A big challenge for any net controller or reporter.Well done Joe Spears AF1E . Sorry I did not get to visit with you today.

Messages Received.
From President Pertti EA7GSU :-
Good morning Bill,
Anzo net was a bit like Xmas, everybody waiting for the Santa Claus.
Some reports were changed but I guess everybody was aiming the beam to
BKK. Personal verifications were:
0655 ZL1RD calling HS85RI; no answer. I called him but Robert didn't
hear me.
0710 PA3AHC, 59 both ways,
G3LUW, 59,
G3OKT 56/57,
G2FUU 59, then qsy'd,
PA0SDZ 59,
VK2MCB LP+SP 42/44,
ZL1BSF 59 both ways.
Nobody on qrg at 0815
Santa didn't appear and as I learned later: internet didn't work.

EU/NA (International) net had less participants but following logged:
YO9BC, Coco 59/58,
N4PF Mike first 53/11, later 58/??
rotarian from Karlstadt, Heinz, DK8NI. Promised to pop in later, 57/56
HB9CQS Klaus 59/59. He came late having celebrated the 80th birthday of
his XYL Karen, HB9CQR.

Monday morning surprise was KF5BD, Jack calling me at 0647 utc on 14293
kHz! I had the radio open for BKK in the shack and was flat on the
floor in the bedroom with my morning exercise when I heard a faint
voice calling me. Reports were 57/57 (LP)!!! He was still an hour later
on the qrg calling BKK but much weaker.

During the morning I heard HS85RI working EU stns on 21293, later 21291
kHz but he was too weak to hear me. I recognized Diane, Bill and Teru
San at the mike.
Thats the catch!

Finally from Bill VK4ZD in Bangkok :-
Hello Everyone.

Do not despair about contacting HS85RI.
On Friday Diane and I will be on air for as long as it takes (probably from 6am local time to 11pm local time).  (2300z to 1600z)
Best wishes

Bill VK4ZD

Thanks Bill,
It might be worth trying Europe, (and USA) on 14,293 about 1200z to 1400z.
