0645z - 0730z Anzo Net on 7,118
Many Thanks to Noel VK2IWT for the following report - Very glad you are feeling better Noel !
Good morning Bill:
My apologies for the lateness of this report. I was "enjoying" ill health for a couple of days but now I am back on deck.
Our net opened at 0636Z on 7.118 Mhz..
Checking in were, VK2MCB, Phil; VK3FPSR, Peter: VK4ZD, Bill and VK2IWT, Noel.
Good signals all round. Discussion topics included wire antennas, gifts for guest speakers and locating local noise levels as well as a report on our 'cqpolio' event on 23 Feb.
A good net, at 0730Z we QSY'd to 14.293 MHz.

1230z - 1330z International Net on 14,293
I had to leave this net early. Many Thanks to Klaus for the following report.
After you left, Pertti and I took over net control as agreed. Mike, N4PF, assisted by making CQ ROAR call. I was again hampered by heavy QRM from 14295 and it was rarely armchair copy even though signals were generally good. Here is an extract of my log:
12:38z G4YZE, Bill. 59+10 here. Got 59+. Bill handed over net control to our president Pertti and me about 12:50z.
12:40z K1AKE, Jim junior, second operator for Jim senior. 57-58 but at one time briefly dropping to 34.
12:40z W1QUO, Jim senior, supported by Jim junior. Not always easy for me to hear who was who.
12:42z N4PF, Mike, from Kentucky. 57 here, improving slightly over time. Got 58.
12:44z EA7GSU, Pertti. Mostly 57 - 58 here except for short spells of QSB. Equally good signals in PA-land, US and UK.
12:46z G3OKT, John, from QTH near border to Wales. Once more a tremendous signal, 59+20 both ways.
12:48z G8LES, Mike. Weak here and no direct contact. Pertti did well for a while.
12:52z G3LUW, Brian. 59+10. Just as I remeber Brian from the good old days.
12:55z G3FUU, Tommy. Fairly weak here, 55 –56, but Tommy had no trouble working the US stations.
13:09z PA3AHC, Malcolm, 22 here. Pertti QSPed Malcolms report to me: 11.
73 – Klaus, HB9CQS

2000z - 2030z N.Am. Transcontinental Net on 14,287
Many Thanks to Jack KF5BD for the following report :-
The 2000 UTC 14.287 ROAR net had 12 checkins today. Of the 12, 6 were from California, 5 were visitors and one was a brand new ham making his debut. Total checks were Bob our treasurer WB7RQG, Jack KF5BD yours truly, Joe W0TBC, Reuben W2LGF, Jim W1QUO, Pertti EA7GSU, Pete N3PV, Madelyn KJ6SIG, Chris KJ6FQ, KD6MAT, KJ6TMH, KI6ZAC. The last six were visitors. Running a net that covers the USA coast to coast is a challenge and Bob makes it work. Hopefully our brothers in Canada will join us and we will welcome them. A bit of news concerning Sennheiser, the maker of fine headphones and other electronic gear-------According to my Sennheiser contact they are now shipping wireless microphones from their new Albuquerque plant
From Jean-Pierre Aubanton F1FCA
Thanks a lot Bill for this interesting report.
I was listening this morning to Pertty Kause, on 40 meters but I can't hear about him "CQ Polio".
A turn on 20 or 15 meters gave no more result.
Very powerfull Japanese stations on 15 meters this morning with an important QSB.
Some stations from Leipzig, pretty strong.
I heard also a group of British stations arriving limit noise.
Best wishes, 73
That's all for this week,
73 de Bill g4yze
