0530z - 0600z Anzo Net on 7,118
Many Thanks to Peter VK3KCD for the following report :-
Good Morning Bill
Quite an active net this week with Noel VK2IWT, Phil VK2FPDB, Peter VK3FPSR, Bill VK4ZD and myself.
Noel VK2IWT is departing for North America on Wednesday and will return in November. He suggested he might keep an ear open for us on the trans Atlantic net when able.
Peter VK3FPSR was 5&9+ with his new antenna which is certainly most effective.
Phil VK2FPDB will have some studying time next month and hopes to upgrade his licence.

0600z - 0730z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path.
N.B. This net re-timed 0600z - 0700z from Sunday May 08.
Many Thanks to Klaus HB9CQS for the following report :-
Greetings Bill,
Solar flux 76 and K-value 4. Could be better, but under the guidance of Bill (ZD) we had a good net.
Initially the skip distance was extreme and I had no copy on stations with G - PA - ON - EA prefixes. YO was an exception. Pertti made the same observation.
06:04z VK3KCD, Peter with a fine signal. 58 for a start, fading over time but never below 56.
06:05z VK4ZD, Bill. Initially 59+10 and never below 59. Got 59. We tried to raise Noel, VK2IWT, but no luck.
06:07z ZL1BFS, Doug. 56 - 57 and 55 when the net closed. Got 58 - 59. Coco got 59+10 and Pertti 59 from Doug.
06:13z G4YZE, Bill. No copy here until after 07:00z. Bill got 54 from Peter and 53 - 54 from Doug.
06:13z EA7GSU, Pertti, sudden jump to 57 - 59. Pertti had good contacts to all ANZO stations.
06:20z VK2GWK, Henk. 59+20 both ways. Henk exchanged reports with all participants, then QSYed to PA-net.
06:30z YO9BC, Coco. 57 - 58 here, less than "normal", but Coco got very fine reports from the ANZO stations.
06:43z PA0SDZ, Les. 11 here increasing to 42. Les got 54 from Bill (ZD).
06:44z PA3AHC, Malcolm. No copy here. Malcolm got 53 from Bill (ZD).
07:05z EA8CPN, Gerald. 54 with my beam towards SW. Gerald worked Bill (ZD). Q4 both ways.
07:12z OH6SM, Martti. 44 - 57 QSB here. Martti got 57 from Doug. + 5C and sunshine.
07:20z Net closed
07:22z G3LUW, Brian. Not readable here, but Pertti and Brian managed to have a QSO.
Guests: ON2JF worked by Bill (ZD).
Pertti had been assisting the villagers in celebrating the village saint, San Pedro. A four-day event !
Coco is satisfied with the result of his leg operation and is doing well. Good news for us all, Coco.
A few hours after our ANZO net closed, Martti entered hospital where he will undergo a hip operation during Monday. As Martti expressed it: " I may not be present on the ANZO net next Sunday." We wish you well, Martti.
Henk will be on holiday in Europe starting end of May. He hopes to meet Les, PA0SDZ. Henk will attend the German ham meeting in Friedrichshafen end of June. He will then go to Interlaken / Switzerland. The road leads through our valley and Karen and I look forward very much to meeting Henk and his XYL for the first time.

Many Thanks to Jack KF5BD for the following report :-
Bill,
Propagation today as poor as I have ever seen it. AF1E Joe Spears was Net control, Jack KF5BD called for early bird ROAR members from 1745 Zulu until 1800 Zulu with no takers.
Jack turned the mic over to AF1E at 1800 Zulu and he checked in Pertti, EA7GSU, W1QUO Jim, WOTBC, Joe . About 1820 Zulu I lost Net Control. Joe might have closed the net and I did not hear him.
Then Bob WB7RQG checked in and the band opened a bit . We helped Jim test his audio and at 1840 Zulu I asked our net Mgr. Bob for permission to close the net----he did and I did.
Add Jim W1QUO worked Pertii also.
Next week I will tell ROAR how far apart some of us on this side of the pond are from our leader-----Pertti in Spain.
