Roar Nets February 20 2011

Propagation bright but erratic.  K=3, A=8, Flux=105.

0600z - 0630z  Anzo Net on 7,118.
Many thanks to Peter VK3KCD for the following report :-
Good Morning Bill
Reduced participation this week as Bill VK4ZD had a Rotary education weekend for incoming presidents. We were also hampered by some significant QRN as is common in the summer months. Noel VK2IWT again had the best copy on all participants while I had very little signal from Peter VK3FPSR. Present were Noel VK2IWT, Phil VK2FPDB, Peter VK3FPSR and myself. With the southern Autumn ( northern Spring ) approaching intercontinental propagation should improve on 40mx and any stations calling in from outside the ANZO region will be most welcome.

0730z - 0900z  Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path.
Many thanks to Klaus for the following report :-
Greetings Bill,
By coincidence I started listening early and surprise! The VKs / ZLs were already there:
07:00z VK4ZD, Bill. 59/ 59 for a start, dropping to a 44 before increasing again to a 59 on the second "opening".

07:04z  ZL1BFS, Doug. 55 here. Got 58. Between the two "openings" signals dropped to 44 / 45.

07:19z  EA7GSU, Pertti. 59+10 / 59. Pertti was exhausted after having participated all night in the ARRL CW contest on 80 metres.

07:23z  LZ/G3LRM, Bob. Good signal, 59 here. Bob moved to Bulgaria two years ago. QTH near Varna.

07:27z VK3KCD, Peter. 57 both ways. Peter reported cold weather. Not what we call cold here, I assume.

07:56z IK6BGJ, Justin (Giustino) as guest. 56 here. Worked by Pertti.

08:02z G4YZE, Bill. 55 here. Got 56. At this time there was a good opening between Bolton and Lockyer Waters.

After 08:02z: Malcolm, PA3AHC and John, EA/G4HMG joined the net. Too weak here for a proper contact.

08:43z Went QRT - with the net still in full swing.

Here in Bolton Bill VK4ZD was 5/8-9 from 0800z to the end but Peter VK3KCD only 4/3 both ways at best.

At 0900z Tommy G2FUU in Nazeing, Essex got 5/9 with Bill VK4ZD, his first on this net for some time.

Hi Bill,    We had eight checkins this sunday!  My first time back from a month vacation in Hawaii.  I was net control and Jack, KF5BD acted as relay;  Jim, W1QUO I could barely copy

                        Joe, W0TBC  No copy
