0530z - 0700z  Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path
Many thanks to Klaus HB9CQS for the following report :-
Greetings Bill,
Deprived of my beauty sleep, I was awarded this Sunday morning with a fine opening towards ANZO. The VKs and ZLs had met on 7 MHz (7.155 ??) [7.115 MHz VK4ZD] before shifting to 14.293 at 05:30z. I was told that the 7 MHz net had been a success. Pertti reported having faintly heard some of the participants but he failed raising them on CW....
05:30z  VK4ZD, Bill from Lockyer Waters. Immediately 59 both ways. 73s at 07:23, signals now 54/54.

05:33z  ZL1RD, Rob. 54 for a start peaking at 58. Rob stayed with us until 06:23z, always Q5 here.

05:35z  VK3KCD, Peter. 53, increasing fairly quickly to 58 both ways. Rain and hence no Spider.

06:06z  VK4VAZ, Brian from Murgon as guest. 44 to 56 here. Got the same from Brian.

06:14z  VK2IWT, Noel from Uralla. 54 here, peaking at 57. Got 59+ from Noel.

06:17z  VK2GWK, Henk. Big signal. 59+10. Got 59+. Henk worked John (HMG) and Bill (YZE) also.

06:59z  EA7GSU, Pertti. Hardly readable for a start. Increasing to 59 shortly before closing time.

07:23z  Net closed

The skilled handling of the net by the VKs and Rob made it an extra pleasure to take part!

Just before the net closed I heard Martti, OH6SM, 56, but never worked Martti. Pertti did. Martti's antenna has stuck due to a rotor problem. A new rotor is on its way.

No workable signals from Bill (YZE), John (HMG) or Malcolm (PA3AHC), but they were there.

73   Klaus, HB9CQS

And many thanks to President Pertti for the following :-

Hello Bill,
Yes I was listening the ANZO 40m net on Sunday morning from 0500 onwards. I heard ZL1RD with 42 and understood that Bill and Peter were on qrg as well, audible but not readable. I tried to catch their attention with CW without success. I believe that someone with a beam had made it. I have GP and dipole only................

The following is a side product from New Orleans correspondence with PA3AHC:

(Last but not least, could you perhaps ask Bill to post me directly with his weekly bulletin which I don't see anymore..
Until the next sked -   73's,   de Malcolm )
  His e-mail is:   malcolm@campbellconsulting.nl

Have a splendid week

From Jack KF5BD about last Sunday's net, September 12 : -
Good Afternoon Bill .
Only two of us showed up for the 1800 Sunday net----plus one visitor. Joe W0TBC and myself. Joe was released from the hospital on Saturday and according to him is making good progress. I had a note from Noel McClaren WB8QHD our past world Sec.   He had a good flight home to Australia where it was 4 degrees Centigrade upon his arrival. My radio arrived back from the ICOM factory Saturday . I know this is too late for your report----Bob Butler has been doing it recently.
73,Jack
Thanks Jack.   Great news about Joe Simonet W0TBC.. Hope to hear you soon Joe !   (G4YZE)
