We welcome reports from participants.

0530z - 0700z  Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293 Long Path.
Many thanks to Klaus for the following report :-
Greetings Bill,
Fairly good conditions. The Oceania DX Contest was on. It did not result in serious QRM, but probably in the absence of some highly valued ANZO net friends. For an hour Peter and I were on our own, guarding the frequency and not daring to go standby. We managed to cover several interesting subjects. Here is an extract of my log:
05:41z  VK3KCD, Peter, today using spider beam. 55 QSB here. Got 53. Not much change until ...
06:05z  signals suddenly increased 3 S-degrees, later peaking at 59+ both ways
06:34z  EA7GSU, Pertti, 58-59 here with deep QSB. Got 59+..
06:43z  PA3AHC, Malcolm. Never above 34 here, but both Peter and Pertti worked Malcolm.
06:51z  G4YZE, Bill. Variable, at best 55. Bill also worked Peter.
07:20z  Net closed
Peter reported that the ANZO 7 MHz net had two participants, Noel, VK2IWT, and Peter.
VK-land will go on summer-time this weekend.
Malcolm plans to visit Melbourne later in the year. Malcolm and Peter hope to meet.

Here in Bolton I got the opening from about 0640z and worked Peter about 5/4 both ways.
Pertti was in trouble with a very strong whistle on 14,296, too strong to notch !
It is apparently the 3rd harmonic from a broadcast station in Tajikistan on 4,765.

And from Pasi .OH1TG :-
Tnx agn. Tajikistan is very strong here. Sometimes I can hear some talking, and
the whistling sound is always there. Very disgusting

0800z - 0900z  UK 80-metre Net on 3,693.
G3JJR John in charge from Wolverhampton in fair conditions
Supported by:-  G3LUW Brian,   G7OAI John,  G2FUU Tommy.

1152z - N4PF Mike in Cynthiana KY up to 5/8 with his linear on.
1156z - PA3AHC Malcolm in Naardeen. Pertti got him well.
1214z - WB4ZWS Cedric in Clemmons NC 5/9 (A Rotarian ! )
1230z - Net Closed.  A very interesting net in much improved conditions.
Jim's noise cancelling system working well with the stronger signals.
Great to hear Nate again after many months of nil or poor signals.
Mike N4PF had been on earlier and heard Gerald EA8CPN in Tenerife
but I think Gerald must have gone off before we started.
Joe AF1E was enjoying glorious weather and a golf tournament.
And we found a new member I think !
A special welcome to Cedric WB4ZWS in Clemmons NC
Cedric's email address is crodney@triad.rr.com

From Franz Nieberding DK1II on 23rd September.
Dear Bill,
I think its time to give a little bit of update on my 3D2II activity. Regarding our project work, there is a summary in my attached word document. During our project work I had only time in the late evening for playing with the radio. Sometimes I got the impression that something happened to the radio, because I didn't hear any activity. But the location with not so good, because I had to set up the antenna, a 12 meter fibrepole with a wire taped on, in the middle between electrical lines.
After the project work we moved to the Novotel hotel in Nadi, and I set up the vertical just outside of my room on the golf course, The K3 was on the desk of the hotel room. Than I downloaded hamcap and Ionoprobe, to get an update on the propagations, which was really helpful. I did app. 1900 contacts, almost all in CW, except one contact with Henk, VK2GWK, in SSB. I tried to join the ANZO-net on September 5, but I heard VK4ZD, Bill, and a few others, but they didn't copy me. So I QSYed back to CW.
Sorry for that.
Hopefully I will work many ROARs on my next trip to ZL8X, Kermadec Isl.. Some more info on that activity you may find under
http://www.kermadec.de/.
