0900z - Net ended.  It had the makings of a very good net but it was wrecked
by deliberate interference.  First the "usual" brief periods of church music
then periods of strong plain carrier, then white noise on a strong carrier, then
a strong CW keyer continuously sending  "QSY Freq Occupatet." from an easterly bearing.
All cleared up as our net ended!

From Peter VK3KCD on Thursday
Got your weekly email this morning and thanks for the good wishes. In this area of Melbourne we had 70mm of rain over 2 days which is unheard of in this part of the world but not uncommon in Queensland! The only damage was 4 cracked roof tiles, a little water inside and a stained ceiling from the golf ball sized hail stones. Other parts of Melbourne were much more severely affected with much larger hail stones and also wind damage. Will still be in Melbourne this weekend and hope to get back down to Flinders next week. Don’t know if I will get the spider beam up for a bit but if conditions remain good it may not matter. Had a listen on the net receiver in the Netherlands last Sunday but 14293 is unfortunately just out of the receiver passband so heard nothing. Greetings to all on the nets.

From ROAR President Pertti,
CQ to the council of VP's,
In recent years we have been able to establish a working station during the RI Conventions. This year we will be in Montreal, Canada. That area doesn't have a dense population of our members and we are in short of hands to organize it. As Conventions are the only "public" appearance where we can demonstrate our activities, it is of utmost importance to make our best to promote the Fellowship.
I therefore ask you to make inquiries amongst your area to identify members who are planning to participate in the Convention and who could be of assistance, however minutely, in setting up or be on call of the station.
Joe Spears, AF1E has accepted to be the coordinator of the operation and we need to support him as good as we can. There is already a team of half a dozen of members which is available to support.
Will you, everyone please, check the situation and report back to me of the results of your enquiry.
Time is of essence!
73 and hear from you soonest
