From Douglas Birt ZL1BFS re last weeks net.
I have been listening for the last two weeks, but signals have been so weak that it wasn't worth coming on.  This week I will hopefully have a linear working, so that might help, provided I can hear you. Then perhaps Vince YO9BC might get a ZL as well!   Douglas   ZL1BFS
From Peter VK3KCD re. this net :-
Great net yesterday. Did not really hear the EA’s but copied everyone else R4-5. I think the propagation peaks to Southern Europe a little earlier but the current time is ideal for central and northern countries. I will not be on next Sunday so will listen for you all in a couple of weeks.

Many thanks to Jack KF5BD for the following report :-
As Jim W1QUO and AF1E said this was a communal net today.  We were without a leader today.
Joe AF1E saved us with the best signal . In fact Jack KF5BD copied AF1E better than usual. Welcome back Ted KL7USN . KI6DCD Chuck  heard Ted and relayed to Jack. Sorry prop was so lacking for your first day back Ted. Joe WOTBC could be copied part of the time. Thank you Chuck for the relay.
In spite of the poor prop here in the States Jim W1QUO [MA] and Joe AF1E  [NC] both worked Pertti EA7GSU who lives in Spain now. We took a vote and agreed to shut the net down early due to the poor prop.  Reported by Jack KF5BD the way HE heard it Sunday .
I had a note from Nancy Ferguson [John W0QWS] former net control of the mid states net on Sunday afternoon . John is fair recovering in a rehab facility.

Messages Received.
A disturbing message from our Vice President Mike Sanders/G8LES.
Just back out of hospital - yes hospital
Was delivering election leaflets on Sunday. Ran out of breath with tight chest.
Went in to Basingstoke as self admission.
Eventually found two arteries 25% restricted so now put on 7 tablet regime to prevent arterial disease.
Groin painful and bruised where they went in to squirt some printer ink about inside!
No need to clean spade yet.
Not good news for me as just turned 57 on 21st seems too young for this sort of thing.
Mike
(Best wishes from us all Mike.  Take care !)

From Don G0JWE :-
Morning Bill,
I replied to Peter’s report on my signal last Sunday.  I thought you might like to see his reply ref new set and beam.
73   Don
Hi Don
Yes keeping well apart from the usual things that wear out as one rapidly approaches 70 like cataracts etc! Got a new rig late last year an IC7700 and am enjoying the extra power of 200 Watts. Still using the short V beam most of the time but have a portable spider beam I put up in the back yard from time to time. Propagation can’t get any worse than it’s been and it certainly seems it is improving. We will of course have a dip over the June to August period but I am hoping the next equinox will bring even better conditions. With the blessing of the ionosphere I see no good reason why you should not work VK and ZL. If I don’t catch up before all the best for the AGM and give my regards to all at Oxford.
73 Peter/VK3KCD
