I still need an e-mail address for Vitor. If he gave me one I lost it in the qrm.

Greetings Bill,
Shortly before 12:00z I started up the 756 and my Australian linear to join what I had hoped was a highly active net.
All I found was S9 splatter from 14295. During a pause, I gave my call sign once, and John, EA/G4HMG came back,
only to be quickly covered by splatter again. I learned that you had gone off for lunch and that John had not been able
to raise Jim, W1QUO. The QRM was murderous so I signalled that I would go QRT.
Listening briefly before I pulled the big switch, I heard Malcolm, PA3AHC, calling me. Malcolm was 59+10 most of
the time and we somehow managed a QSO, our first. Then, an Austrian Field Day station called, OE6RLF, Ludwig,
with a 58 signal. When signing off I heard a SM station faintly. I asked the station to QSY to 14292 and swung the
beam further north. It was Karl, SM0DMJ, calling from his summer house near Nynäshamn. 59 with some QSB so
we had a good chat - in Swedish! After several years on the International net this was our first direct contact and we both enjoyed it.
Before closing down, I called CQ RI net on 14292. No answers. I pulled the big switch at 12:21z.
